So I am a local who happens to be an Italian born and bred so I know what good Italian food is. I was here when this restaurant was first opened and have been there a few times since. The hype about the pizza is overrated. The owner is very personable but almost too personal that he doesn’t leave your table if you engage him which would be ok if he wasn’t so chatty. He goes on and on about the imported pizza oven and specialized training he received to make authentic pizza. One time I tried calling for a reservation for 2 for a Saturday, (I called on a Thursday), the owner answered and said there were no tables available which I found odd and said so to him. He replied that his restaurant was so popular you needed to book reservations two weeks in advance! I am a downtown Toronto girl and I’ve never had to book two weeks out for a restaurant in downtown Toronto, never mind in the sleepy town of Midland. That really turned me off. Two weeks ago we decided to go back and try the patio. We got seated right away but it took over an 11/2 for our pizzas to be made. When we asked the waitress she gave us a variety of excuses saying the kitchen was busy and training new staff. When I noticed that the two tables next to us received their food before ours even though they got there after us, I then realized she forgot to put in our order and when I called the waitress back, rather than admit the truth she said it was a mix up. Now remember, I called her over two other times to inquire about our order and rather than go check on it she came up with excuses. When our pizzas finally arrived the dough was raw in the centre and my husband’s pepperoni pizza looked like the cook accidentally dumped the container of pepperoni on the crust. There was a pile of pepperoni in the middle that hadn’t been spread. Because we had waited so long we took our pizzas to go. The waitress did take off 35 bucks from our bill but this last visit will...
Read moreThis place isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary adventure that'll have you feeling like you've been transported from the mundane to the magnificent.
Picture this: You walk in, the scent of garlic hits you like a punch in the face—in the best way possible, of course. It's so garlicky, it could probably ward off a vampire invasion. But hey, who needs vampires when you've got Caesar salad that makes you breathe fire? It's the perfect warm-up act for the main event: the Margarita pizza, a classic that's so delicious, it's practically a work of art. One bite, and you'll swear you've been teleported to the bustling streets of Downtown Toronto or the romantic alleyways of Rome. Ah, amore!
And let's talk about the service. Ricky and his crew aren't just serving pizza; they're serving up hospitality on a silver platter. From the moment you walk in, you're treated like royalty—like you're the long-lost cousin of pizza royalty, if such a thing exists. Ricky himself leads the charge, making sure every guest feels like they're the most important person to ever grace the doors of the restaurant. Move over, Beyoncé, there's a new VIP in town!
But wait, there's more! Just when you think it can't get any better, they hit you with the pièce de résistance: the espresso martini. It's not just a cocktail; it's a work of art, crafted with the precision of a Michelangelo masterpiece. One sip, and you'll be wondering why every meal isn't followed by one of these bad boys.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place to celebrate, unwind, or just indulge in some damn good pizza, look no further than Dillion's Wood Fired Pizza. It's more than a restaurant; it's an experience. So do yourself a favor and book a table ASAP. Your taste buds...
Read moreThis is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a rustic mid-day modern design, kind and friendly staff, but what does that matter? It's all about the food! We started our meal with a caramelized onion dip with warm peta on the side. The dip was creamy and delicious, the warm peta along side it was soft in the middle while maintaining firm on the outside. I would highly recommend this starter to anyone looking to start their meal off with a kick. Next we ordered the Decon pizza which was topped with 3 different kinds of meat, and 2 styles of cheese rested on a tastefully flavoured tomato sauce. Our waitress advised us to drizzle olive oil on top of the crispy crust and top it was a pinch of salt. The result was a perfectly salty crust with a soft fluffy inside. I was blown away by the taste. The crust on the Pizza had to be the best part of our whole meal. The pizza itself was delicious and incomparable to any chain restaurant pizza. We finished our meal off with the recommended Nutella cheese cake. The cheesecake was topped with a healthy layer of hardened Nutella, under it was a soft chocolate (or hazelnut) cheesecake resting on a crumbly crust. The crust had a taste unlike any I had tasted before, it was as if it had thyme or some other spice normally found in a dinner dish within it. These 3 layers together complemented each other perfectly. Our meal came to $48 for 2 of us, well worth every penny.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to...
