Disappointing experience and will certainly never return. We ordered take out biryani from here on a weeknight. When we got home and opened the bag to take out the containers, the lids of the takeout containers had literally melted off and biryani was falling out everywhere. They packaged our biryani in such a way that the plastic from the containers had melted in the biryani as well. I'm shocked that it could happen but something like this would clearly only happen if the containers were put in a microwave, or if containers were of really flimsy quality and super hot food was put inside them. Imagine styrofoam melting into the biryani, and they're passing these off to people. In over 25+ YEARS of ordering food and takeout from restaurants this has never happened to us before. We were shocked to say the least and immediately took it back to the restaurant.
This is where the events took a real downturn, instead of apologizing even once for our inconvenience, or trying to offer a solution, the owner was adamant that we had somehow melted the containers ourself and were looking to create issues for them. That we were the ones who likely stuck the containers in a microwave or oven and were trying to accuse them of our mistake. We were aghast, we literally opened the bag when we got home and saw melted plastic and took it back (all within 20 mins) and this was their attitude. When we insisted this is exactly what it looked like the second we opened the bag, they took the biryani from us and took it back to the kitchen, and said they'd bring some new ones. Immediately we said to leave this out in front of us while they get new ones so we know for sure the same food wasn't regiven to us in a new container, and miraculously they realized they were sold out of all their biryani they had. Wow, just wow. Finally they offered a refund.
They weren't apologetic or sorry in the least for our inconvenience and didn't care that we had to make multiple trips to the restaurant, or the rest of our family waiting at home for dinner, or anything. When we expressed our disappointment with their behaviour, the owner had a very bad attitude and was only concerned how us returning the biryani was harmful to him and his restaurant's image. He kept trying to basically shoo us out of there, lest the other patrons in the store come to see what the issue was.
During these times, we would love to support local businesses (and continue to do so), but Daata Grill will never see another penny from me or my family again. I get that a restaurant can make a 'mistake' but something like this is not that hard to rectify. Instead of giving us attitude and owning up to their mistake with a straightforward apology would have...

Read moreThe ambience/staff customer service is exceptionally outstanding-friendly, courteous & makes me feel welcomed on every visit. I love visiting this place for their evening platters & karahi meals. The Karahis are the best I've came across around Milton & GTA.
Ms. Iman, one of their most hospitable staff, advised me to visit Daata Grill for their weekend special morning brunch. I was somewhat hesitant, but I am so glad I took a chance. The place was jamm packed. The buffet was amazing with plenty of options. The food was simply divine, hot & flavorful. The curry choices were amazing. They had Payas, Nihari, Egg omelette, Saag, Chana curry & much more. I just loved their Eggs omelet, Payas & Nihari-Loved the hot flavorful Payas. I was mesmerized & taken away by the taste of the food. I don't think its right to call it a brunch, it was more than a heavy morning meal. OMG, the halwa was so tasty & rich in flavor. The Tea was amazingly good to finish off.
I assure everyone, for the prices, selections & quality of food, this is a must visit place around Milton & the whole of GTA. I personally think this place is really underrated compared to other competitors around GTA.
I would like to earnestly thank all the staff members (Asad, Ibrahim, Ali, Iman), the chefs & the friendly owners Mr. Ali, Ms. Sakina & Saif. Thank You Guys for making me feel welcomed & your great food. Keep up the Good...
