We went to Shawarma Town to grab a late lunch this weekend after reading a lot of good reviews about the food here but I have to say I was rather disappointed. My son got the shawarma wrap which he said was good. I ordered the sharawma platter. I've had shawarma many times and love it. Not sure if it was the time we went but the food was not hot at all, just lukewarm 😥 It looked like the food had been sitting there for awhile. I'm surprised we didn't get sick. In other places, they would heat up the meat and potatoes on the griddle but not here. The potatoes looked cold and unappetizing and it was when I ate it. It wasn't like it was busy so no excuse why the server didn't bother heating it up. There were no other customers on premise. We also couldn't eat inside as the tables were pushed against the wall and chairs stacked up while most, if not all other places allow dine in. A major turn off as we had to drive to the Milton Mall to eat our lukewarm food. It was ok, not the worse but that's probably because we were hungry. We will not be going back here. I'd rather try another...
Read moreDrove by a few times after shopping at Food Basics as it is almost next door but never tried this place and have ordered shawarma from the other places in Milton so thought I would give this establishment a chance recently as I had a craving. Ordered the chicken shawarma with rice with normal garlic sauce and spice sauce. First thing I noticed is the chicken is not cut fresh off a rotating skewer, it is sitting in warming trays maybe from morning so it is not super hot. Brought the order home and when I tried the chicken it was bland and rubbery and the white garlic sauce was not edible, had no taste at all, tasted like white water, I had to add lots of salt and pepper to it from home just to force myself to eat this meal. Probably the worst chicken shawarma I've ever had. Stick with the places that cut the shawarma meat direct off the rotating hot skewers or who have the meat sitting there fresh and with better tasting sauces. The restaurant was very run down inside, would never want to sit there and eat, taking my business elsewhere, this...
Read moreI hope my sharing of this review helps this restaurant improve their overall food. Unfortunately my experience won't bring me back. I purchased 4 dinners from Shawarma Town, Chicken and Salad, Chicken and Fries and Chicken and Rice. My family all had the same feedback about the food. The garlic sauce was applied far to generously, the garlic sauce and spicy sauce truly has no flavor and did not add to the meal at all. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and not cooked on the spit, the boiled chicken flavor was so overwhelming it took away from any spices added to the chicken during cooking. The fries were under cooked and soggy, some were still slightly raw. The gentleman serving us was great, but in a town with far too many shawarma restaurants you truly only have 1 change to win a customer over and this failed due to the most important part, providing a great...
