I usually don't write google reviews, but my experience was very unsatisfactory. I had booked a Ramadan buffet for me and my family and when we got there, they just sent us through a small cramped area into a grocery store with horrible lighting. I love the restaurant’s ambience and was looking forward to sitting in the main area, not in the back, that looked like a hospital waiting room. It wasn't lively at all and people went there for a quiet space to pray. I don’t understand why a restaurant would ever do that, especially if you are known for your atmosphere. I understand that there are a lot of people to accommodate but you should’ve informed me about the seating area, beforehand. I even offered to move the single tables together, but they said those tables were booked, yet nobody came to fill those seats during the whole dinner.
It was cramped to get food and to move around and when I was leaving, my jacket knocked down a bunch of plastic spoons and I didn't even realize. Staff seemed overworked because no one was ever at the counter and every question I asked they just seemed confused. Food really is hit or miss. The kulfis I bought from the grocery store tasted better than their desserts. The biryanis has no flavour and tasted old. Naans were good. I took a bite into a samosa and there was nothing inside. It just crumbled into my mouth and on the plate like sand from the dessert. All the niharis and salaan tasted the same. Dates were the best. There really is no sense of accommodation from the staff, bland food, the only good part was the decorations of the main restaurant, but we didn’t even experience that. Some restaurants stick to their original menu and offer complimentary iftaar items, such as dates and water and fruit, etc. This buffet just seemed to not uphold their customer service or food quality...
Read moreI am a Japanese immigrant, and I have never tried any Desi food as I was afraid that maybe I would dislike it, however after my wife persuaded to give it a try I went to this restaurant. The service there is a treat, everybody is nice and patient with me even when I was not accustomed to the traditions and culture here. I had no idea what to order so I asked if they could just order me something that most people would order here and that they did with a happy face. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing too with good background music to calm people down however i do wish that they take recommendations haha, however everything is clean and pleasant here and it reminded me of my home country Japan, it’s like regardless if I am in a desi restaurant it still feels relatively similar to some restaurants back at my country which is just bizarre, and lastly the main part of the restaurant the food. I ate a dish called nihari along with some Naan which was given to me. Although it is quite spicy I do recall desi food being this way, and I must say I am now a middle eastern foods fan. Nihari is one of the dishes that I order here the most as everytime I eat it I want to eat more and more and more regardless of how spicy it is. I also got Kabab and Karahi which is the main stars of the show and that too made me understand why they chose to have those 2 dishes as the name of their restaurant as these 2 are the greatest middle eastern dishes I have ever tried.
If you’re coming back from work and you need to treat yourself I promise you that this restaurant will make your frown turn upside down! Thanks for treating me and my wife with kindness and I hope to try new dishes...
Read moreI recently attended an Iftar buffet at kababeesh during Ramadan, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The menu featured an overwhelming amount of chicken-based dishes, with absolutely no options that included beef, which felt quite limiting. The cuisines overall were underwhelming, and the quality did not meet expectations for a special occasion like Iftar.
For instance, the spring rolls were meant to be a mix of chicken and vegetables, but they were filled with bland potatoes instead, which was quite surprising and unappetizing. Additionally, the buffet had white rice, chickpeas, and lentils, but there was a lack of variety. I had hoped for more grilled or BBQ options, but the only BBQ item was a single chicken seekh kebab, which seemed like it was frozen and not freshly made.
Another downside was the absence of bottled water. Instead, they served regular tap water, which felt a bit unprofessional for a restaurant trying to offer a special Ramadan meal. As for the Karahi, the chicken was overcooked and tough, making it hard to enjoy, and the overall flavor was average at best.
On the positive side, the tea and desserts were the only redeeming aspects of the meal. The tea was warm and comforting, and the desserts were sweet and satisfying. However, these few good elements couldn’t make up for the lackluster main dishes.
Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of variety and quality in the food. It didn’t live up to the standards I was expecting for a...
