Overall, Milton Jewellers was unprofessional, sloppy, rude, and is not somewhere I would recommend if you’re looking for quality customer service.
I brought my ring in for appraisal 3 days ago. On the spot it was valued “anywhere between $500-$1000” and I was told “the best he could do was $500”–I wanted an exact appraisal before we settled on a price. The ring was sent for testing and I was told I would hear back the next day. Around 3PM the next day, I hadn’t heard anything and when I tried to call the store it went straight to voicemail… I went back into the store and a different person greeted me this time who was totally uninterested in speaking with me or figuring out where my ring was. She made a phone call right in front of me, mumbling, I’m assuming to the man who initially helped me. When she got off the phone she said the ring would be back that evening and I would be contacted. The evening passed and I heard nothing, finally I went in today to pick it up and take it somewhere else.
Initially I obviously felt like I was being taken advantage of when the ring wasn’t properly appraised and I was offered the lower half of what he thought it was worth. I don’t understand why I was met with hostility the second time I came in, and why I wasn’t contacted when the appraisal was going to take longer, or when it finally returned to the store.
This experience didn’t instill confidence in me that my ring was in good hands, or that the people working there cared whether or not...
Read moreDropped a necklace off to have a link soldered on Tuesday was told it would take 3 days. Gave them a call on the Saturday afternoon after not hearing from them, said they would call me back, they didn’t call. I called them again 30 minutes later they told me it wasn’t done. It would be ready Monday. Called Monday at 4pm ( they close at 7pm ) to see what’s going on. They told me they couldn’t find the necklace and would call me back.. I called them at 4:45pm and they told me it wasn’t done and would be ready Tuesday, told them I would be coming coming Tuesday at 12:30 to collect the necklace whether it’s done or not. He said his technician misplaced it and said it will be done for sure and they would give me 25% discount for the trouble.. Got there at 12:30, and the lady working said only 10% discount, I told the lady no I was told 25% on the phone, she called someone to verify, and the man said YES he told me 25% on the phone … So 7 days and 40$ later. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL, will not be shopping...
Read moreI’m quite disappointed with the quality of work they did. I had 2 chains to repair: silver and gold. Silver chain consists of double rings, one ring of one pair was broken. I expected it soldered, but instead they just took it out and charged 20$ for that. Gold chain had a broken lock and a hook. Gold that was used for the lock has significantly lower quality than the other parts of chain. Lock that was on the chain before the repair they kept for their advantage. Quality of soldering is really poor it is not a jewelry work at all. Chain rings on the other side of the lock are stretched without any reason. 50$ for the gold one. I will never go to that place again. I have a feeling that I was caught by quite experienced guys that can easily trick everyone with their “repair “ or they just can’t do this...
