Sunset Grill — Restaurant in Milton

Went to this location today for Brunch with my family and my parents.

It was very busy which was to be expected, it was Boxing Day.

The order was as follows:

1 - Mediterranean omelette. 2 - Sunset Supers. 1 - French toast 3 - Hamburgers.

When I ordered my burger I requested well done home fries, the waitress acknowledged my request at this time.

About 20-30 minutes pass and we’re informed that the burgers are “10 minutes from done” but all the egg dishes are ready, so the eggs could sit for 10 mins or they could serve them first. It would have been nice if all the food was prepared at the same time. 🤷‍♂️

The guests at my table who ordered eggs now had their food, however the children at table were still waiting for their burgers, as well as myself.🤦‍♂️

After the waitress came by for a second time to apologize for their delays she advised that they may not be able to make well done home fires.

I requested again that they be cooked “well done” she seemed extremely annoyed at this point but nodded and left the table side.

As the waitress delivered our burgers, after the rest of my table was almost done their meals, she said “that’s as well done as they’re going to get!”.

At this point, disgusted how I was spoken to in front of my family, I simply refused the meal, and requested it be removed from the bill.

Now this is where the story gets good!

It comes time to pay the bill, I approach the cash and I’m met by whom I can only assume is the manager.

She hands me my bill, I see the banquet burger ask for it to be removed. She bitterly demanded an explanation why I didn’t eat it after it was prepared for me. I watched the waitress tell her what happened, she knew there was an issue, one can only assume it was left on the bill out of spite.

I pointed to the hot banquet burger that was beside her on top of the cold raw chopped vegetables inserts for the kitchen line. I let her now I didn’t even touch the food and would like it removed.

She begrudgingly removed the burger from the bill after questioning and berating me for a moment.

Needless to say there is another Sunset Grill about 5kms from this location GO THERE !

I myself will never be back, my family and I will stick to other guys...

Been to this location twice, both similar experiences. Didn't write a review the first time because I thought it was maybe just the day. Yesterday, I went with my family to this location and the server was very rushed (I'll get to that later). As we order our drinks, the server drops them at the end of the table, we were six people, and he expected us to all grab our drinks from the end. We still had menus in hand, looking for what we wanted, yet he kept coming every 2 minutes to see if we were ready, kind of rushing us. As we ordered, we get out food and start eating. Later, near the end, I noticed a huge burnt piece of potatoes that were stuck together, but since I was already done, I didn't want to say anything. As we're finishing off our food, no one came over to CLEAN OUR TABLES OF THE PLATES (because our server never made an appearance ever again after food was delivered, hence the rush we noticed on him). Made it very uncomfortable for when we were just table talking after our meal.

I thought I'd be able to upload pictures on the review, so I took a picture of the burnt potatoes and the plates piled up on our table.

Sunset grill is great at all the other locations I've been to, maybe this was just two bad visits that were rare. I hope so, as I will give it one last shot or I'll have to find another breakfast place.

I visited this Sunset Grill Breakfast Restaurant with my two kids and here is a summary of our experience:

👍 The Food: The culinary experience was a highlight of our visit. The food was not only great but was served promptly, which is always a plus when dining with children.

👍 Cleanliness & Ambiance: The restaurant was clean and maintained a pleasant ambiance which made the dining experience comfortable.

👎 Service: Unfortunately, the service was where the experience fell short. Our server was noticeably inattentive throughout our meal. Despite trying to get her attention several times for some extra plates and other requests, we were unable to receive the assistance we needed in a timely manner. The check-ins were infrequent, happening only towards the end of our meal.

👎 Hospitality: I was somewhat taken aback by what felt like a lack of hospitality during our visit. A simple request for extra plates was met with a less-than-friendly response.

Conclusion: While we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the neat environment, the service was a letdown. I hope this was a one-off experience and not a standard practice at this establishment, because it really marred what could have been a perfect outing. I'd appreciate a more welcoming and attentive service in the future to match the standard set by the food and the...
