Don’t know where to start.
If I had a different waitress, I probably wouldn't have considered leaving a review.
Seated in decent time
Drink and order taken in decent time
Bread served (4 half slices) complimentary, with oil and balsamic vinegar dip served right away. Oil balsamic vinegar not that great but bread was nice and fresh.
Ordered lamb spedini and salad. Served in decent amount of time.
Lamb was ok, hint of charcoal was nice but other than that. Nothing special. Was on the tougher side, no better than the frozen Marcangelo brand you find a the supermarket.
I have eaten lamb and lamb spedini, frequently and long enough to know that these spedini were at best, ok. I love lamb so it was just ok. Kudos to the charcoal flavouring! So you won me with that. Bravo.
Non lamb enthusiasts may have a problem with the toughness.
The salad, home style Italian red wine vinegar dressing with radicchio just how I grew up and make at home time to time but with much less salt . How about cutting the salt down, say 90 %. The salt issue maybe a one off??
Service goes to Negative Star rating from here.
This is where we were really turned off:
Because the salad was so salty, it would have been nice to have a few more slices of bread to counter the overly salted salad, We asked for some more bread, and in reply, and still in disbelief how the waitress responded, “there is a limit! And you don’t need anymore bread!”. And just walked away and never came back.
Immediately I thought she was joking and just had a very Rough sense of humour.
If a customer wants bread and there is a limit, how about “sorry, there is a limit, I can bring you another order but I have to charge you.”
I would have been fine paying for some more bread.
The fact I am at a restaurant should indicate we are willing to pay for food!!!!!!. that is why we were there, to order food and pay for it, NOT GET INSULTED!!!! She was rude and insulting. I took offence to the comment and the fact someone thinks they can talk to us that way.
I would like see if she said that to someone who is weight conscious.
Very unprofessional waitress.
I thought 100% she was joking. Never, ever had anyone in the customer service industry speak to me that way.
I watched Seinfeld’s episode of “the soup Nazi”, at least that was supposed to have been amazing soup.
I apologize to the owner, that I had to be so honest. You can thank your you waitress for that.
I can think of endless number of ways the waitress could have handled our request for some more bread that would have resulted in me not feeling the need to write a review.
Many things on the menu I would have tried after today still, but never if waitress like that is still...
Read moreMy girlfriends and I have been coming here for years - the food is great and priced accordingly. I wanted my boyfriend to try it so we went. Unfortunately when the girl asked if we had a reservation and we didn’t - she seamed like she didn’t want us to stay. The restaurant had one large party of folks but besides that it was pretty empty. We said if you’re busy with the large party we will have some drinks until they are all served. We waited and waited and sat ourselves by the table at the entrance. Then a father and son came and were asked if they had reservations and they didn’t- they were escorted to the dining room without any issues….Then another girl came and took our drink orders and explained that the kitchen is busy and there would be a wait - we were okay with this. When we were served our drinks we noticed the father and son were being served food….after sharing a bottle of wine the father and son were leaving the restaurant and we still had not ordered our dinner…..not sure why we were treated this way. I know my one star is not going to affect this restaurant because they don’t care because they know they have good food. But my point is; wouldn’t it be good to also boast of having good customer service...
Read moreWe were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and this is the restaurant my wife picked. We had to take two cars as there were six of us…..If I wasn’t following my wife I would’ve drove right past. The signage is a bit on the small side. We drove around back and the parking was a bit tight and I drive a small car. Once inside I forgot about all of that… we were greeted and seated promptly. The decor reminded my of my grandma’s house which was great as it brought back a lot of good memories. Our waitress came over soon after we’re seated and took our drink orders. We ordered a few appetizers and them came out much quicker than I expected. They were delicious and were devoured in minutes. I thought it couldn’t get better but it did with the main course. The food brought me right back to nonna’s house. The portions were just right and no one had a complaint. We finished with coffee’s and no dessert as we had other plans. I was surprised by the bill for the amount of food we got and the number of people….I was expecting it to be much more. Great value. We’ll be...
