Decided to take my grandma out for dinner, chose this place as I've heard stellar things about it from multiple people and we were both sorely disappointed.
I got the two meat combo and my grandma got the brisket sandwich. Right off the bat the brisket for both of us was shredded, which is an interesting choice, but I think due to it being shredded it ended up very dry and very tough. Unfortunately did not have alot of flavor either. The ribs on my plate were dry and tough as well too, which was confusing because visually, before pulling apart very dry looking, but looked moist on the inside? Maybe it was just a little greasy. It just seemed like it was yesterdays food??
The sides that came with my dinner weren't much better, the mac and cheese was oiled noodles with a bit of shredded cheese on top, and the beans were..... im not even sure how to describe them. I had only a few bites of my meal before I gave up on it, and asked for the bill.
Decided to bring the food home for the dog so it wouldn't go to waste, however before we could even give it to the dog both me and my grandma were slaves to the toilet, with horrible stomach pains and the likes. So it went in the garbage. 78$ down the drain and in the garbage. The one thing I will say is that our server was pretty nice, and the blooming onion we got as an appetizer was pretty good as well too. Super disappointed as I was absolutely stoked to try this place out. The photos are of my meal AFTER I was...
Read moreThis is the first time I have done a review on a restaurant. I read lots of good comments and so I brought a couple of friends. Full breakdown of items I ate or lack of... Beans were ok at best the Mac and cheese was bland and not cheesy at all. They pretty much just buttered the pasta and put grated cheese on top. And the BBQ sauce I had was good (only sauce) the Meat wow I don't have words to describe. One of the worst cooking I have ever had of brisket. First off when I got it on my plate I thought is this pulled pork I asked for brisket. it's all been pulled apart and is stringy and dry doesn't describe how bad this was. A starving child in Africa would throw it away. I tried 2 bites and said no. I went up to server and said sorry I can't eat it. She said she would speak with other staff about meal when we left she charged me half price for meal. I was like it was disgusting and I ate small side of mac and cheese and beans and was charged like 15 or 16$ for Two sides. You can offer me a free meal and I won't come back. If you expect to make it in the restaurant business you better learn to cook your meat. Also never in my life have I seen a brisket that was pulled apart like that. You win the award for worst BBQ in the lower mainland. My one friend did get a poutine and that I will say was good. Fries were crispy natural style fry with good hearty gravy and cheese curds.. Oh and the cornbread is bad not even close to the meat but...
Read moreMy partner and I flipped a coin and left a previous establishment hoping to salvage date night. As we were driving to the coin toss selection... we stumbled upon Outlaws and the smell turned us. We immediately found a parking spot and walked in. The ambience is friendly, with the busy staff taking a second to acknowledge us and seat us at a table. We ordered the blooming onion as an appy, they were out of many items that night as they were very busy but they let us know well ahead of time and helped up tweak our order to get exactly what we wanted! My boyfriend and I were smashing knuckles going at the blooming onion. It is DIVINE! I ordered a small salad which was very satisfying as far as salad goes, they add bacon to their ceasar which is the way to my heart! The pulled pork sandwich was amazing, and the house made fries have the perfect crisp to them. We ordered a side of gravy to dip them in, no ketchup needed and the gravy was so could I could have eaten it like soup. We were beyond satisfied with the food and service, we also had a variety of games to watch, my boyfriend watched football while I watched hockey. The restaurant is decorated in a lodge like style which I love. It fits the vibe the food serves. I will definitely be back, eager to try the cornbread! I did not take any photos as we were too busy...
