The English Tart is a very nice and elegant-looking café to go for rest and recuperation. When I came there on a late Thursday morning, there was available seat at most places of the establishment.
I had the Tuna Sandwich with the Vegetable Soup and coffee to go with it. The sandwich was great with most of the contents of the sandwich were fresh. The soup was decent and made for a good sauce for my sandwich. The coffee was pretty good, even though had to use plenty of cream and sugar for my liking. I also had their Victoria Sponge that I found was okay. You should know, however, that they stop serving their breakfast specials at 10:30 AM and their menu choices are pretty limit, despite the many desserts they have on display.
The aesthetic countenance of the establishment’s interior is overwhelmingly attractive. The place is lavished with antiquated furnishings, sophisticated dishware and traditional surfaces. The staff at the English Tart were very nice and professional with their service when I was there.
Overall, the English Tart may not be the must-go-to place for breakfast or lunch. However, it is nice place for a snack or...
Read moreI was fortunate enough to be invited to High Tea yesterday and had a wonderful experience. We had a choice of teas and I tried the Queens Blend which is a black tea...great flavour and not bitter at all. Our 3 tier tray came with 3 different sandwiches (cucumber, roast chicken and cranberry, and egg salad) and then two tiers of desserts (shortbread, lemon and raspberry cake, carrot cake, cupcakes that resembled a Victoria Sponge cake, a granola type square, miniature scones, chocolate cake,- hope I remembered everything) plus a special heart-shaped, jam filled cookie for my grandson. Atmosphere and service was great, however I did find it a bit noisy…the place was full and of course everybody was talking. I would definitely go again but I perhaps would choose a later time than a lunch hour. Oh, and if you want High Tea you need...
Read moreDisappointing day at English tarts. We used to live in Mission and frequented this shop often. My husband and I decided to make the trip from chilliwack to mission for a date day. Because it’s a tea shop, we didn’t consider that we would need a vaxx pass to be there. Upon arrival, we were turned away because we don’t use the pass. A place like this could easily just switch to counter service so that they don’t have to discriminate. Instead, we were sent away. A place where I used to frequent, I was made to feel quite unwelcome. Im 6 months pregnant and was hungry so this didn’t go over well. I broke down in tears on the sidewalk as soon as we exited the doors. They do have good food, but am sad that they choose to treat loyal customers like second class citizens. Will no longer be a customer...
