I have been a loyal customer at this BBQ Chicken location, visiting at least once a week for several years. Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment, as the customer service has deteriorated significantly over the past few months.
A few weeks ago, my friends and I came for dinner. Upon entering, we were immediately approached by the servers, who informed us that there were no available seats as “ALL” tables were reserved. We asked if we could wait in the bar area until a table became available, and one of the staff members, Miguel, shrugged and said, “Sure.”
We also inquired if a manager or owner was present, but we were told there was no manager on duty. After some time, it became apparent that some of the reserved guests did not show up, so we were eventually seated and served. The meal proceeded normally. However, at the end of the service, a female server approached us and expressed that she felt we had been rude to her earlier. We clarified that we had not intended any disrespect and, if she felt otherwise, we sincerely apologized. We had a lengthy discussion, during which she appeared to accept our apology, and we left on what we believed were good terms.
However, on January 12 at approximately 7:30 PM, my friends and I returned to the restaurant and were approached by staff who stated that they would not serve us because we had allegedly been “rude” during our previous visit. We were shocked and confused, as we believed the matter had been resolved during our prior discussion.
When we asked for clarification, we were told that “as a team, we agreed not to serve you.” Both Miguel and the female server from the prior incident were present and appeared to be smirking as if they found the situation amusing. Despite our efforts to discuss and resolve the issue, the staff remained dismissive and uncooperative.
It is deeply disappointing to be treated this way at a restaurant where I have been a loyal customer for years. One misunderstanding, which we believed had already been resolved, should not warrant such treatment. I kindly request that this matter be reviewed and resolved immediately, as this treatment is unacceptable for a loyal customer...
Read moreIt was almost 11pm when we got to this place but there were a few people dining in. The place was nice and clean. After we sat down, it took a few minutes for our server to come take our order, which was understandable since they were busy. The food came relatively fast after we've placed our order. We ordered 3 kinds of BBQ chicken—Honey Garlic, Golden Fried and Hot Spicy. They all looked so good! There was a beautiful crunch to every bite especially the original which was not coated with sauce. They were moist and perfectly seasoned! NOTE: they're not all chicken legs. They are pieces from a whole chicken—wings breast ribs, thighs and legs. The Honey Garlic was definitely my favorite! The spicy ones were very spicy and there was too much heat for us to continue with this. The short of it is, they were all nicely coked and moist. I would have given this place a 5-star review, however, they spoiled my enjoyment when they came and cleaned the table next to us and sprayed it with Pinesol and it wreaked so much that I couldn't continue eating. The very offensive smell got to my sinuses and down my throat that it was impossible to breath. I tried not to make a big fuss but I was literally choking so I had to ask the server to please not spray that stuff while we were eating. She came around and cleaned the other table by us without the spray, however, the smell on the towel she used to wipe the table with also wreaked of pinesol. I would have loved to go back to that place for their good food, but this experience spoiled it for me. I have asthma and I'm super sensitive to chemicals and scents, so this was not a good...
Read moreI’ve visited many BBQ Chicken locations before, and they were all very, very good. However, I was extremely disappointed with this location. Firstly, the interior was messy and dirty (including the bathrooms). The service was quite slow; they asked if we were okay with waiting 15 minutes, and we found 15 minutes to be quite reasonable. However, the food arrived almost 40 minutes later. Among our orders, we had cheesling fries. When the order arrived, we were very surprised because in other locations where I had it, the cheesling seasoning was so abundant that it was almost too much, but here, it was barely a third of that amount. I explained this to the staff and mentioned the difference compared to other locations, and I asked if I could get a little more cheesling powder. They told me I would need to pay extra. Then, before I could respond, they said, “I’ll bring it for you this time,” in a strange, rude manner. Later, when they brought the chicken, they sarcastically asked, “So, how was the chicken? Was it better than at the other location?” With the rudest employee I’ve encountered in a long time, combined with the uncomfortable and dirty environment, the entire dining experience was ruined. If you want to try something nice at BBQ Chicken, I definitely do not recommend this location. If that rude waiter sees this comment and remembers his rudeness, I came to the restaurant with my friend for our last dinner in Toronto before taking him to the airport, and you ruined our mood. Thanks a lot. (We were at the restaurant on Saturday...
