AMBIANCE: When you first enter this restaurant, you will notice that it is a little run down. The door doesn't have a door knob. The washroom only has 2 stalls, one of which doesn't work and the waiting area leading to the dine in area is very narrow and if all of these was sort of "upgraded", it would really elevate the look of this place because the dine-in area is actually quite decent.
FOOD: We ordered the bbq platter, 2 biryanis, and butter chicken. The bbq platter was a major hit. It is a great starter. We asked them to substitute the beef items with chicken items, and the platter also came with 4 large naans which did not disappoint. I preferred the chicken biryani over the lamb biryani. I did not try the butter chicken, but i heard it was more of a sweet flavour. We got it to finish up all the naans. The prices of the biryani were very good and each plate feeds about 2 people easily.
SERVICE: Let me preface this by saying that we were visiting this restaurant , at dinner time, during the Holy month of Ramadan. We made a reservation for 6:30 for a group of 6. When we were seated, we were asked if we were fasting, to which we answered we were not. The server then said OK then we will need you to order fast because we have a lot of people visiting later on to break their fast. We understood and so we ordered right away. But we had some questions about the items, the server kept rushing us to order and kept reiterating the fact that they will get busy later on. Once we ordered and finished eating our food we were rushed to get up because once again they needed the seating for the other patrons that were expected to come later on. But we weren't even sitting for that long. We wanted to order some more food, but didn't bother since it was clear our business was not needed. I get they get busy for Ramadan, but they should have us asked us if were fasting when we made the reservations, so we could have came another day or for an earlier time. It took them sometime to bring us a box for leftovers and the bill.
The food was really good but we felt rushed over all even though we were not taking long at all. If you do visit, try to avoid coming during the month of Ramadan, if you are...
Read moreBarBQ Tonite promises an intriguing fusion of flavors, particularly within their renowned Biryani selection. While my recent visit to the restaurant left a distinct impression, certain key aspects indicate the potential for further refinement.
Undoubtedly, the standout offerings at BarBQ Tonite are their Biryani variants, notably the Mutton (Lamb) and Chicken selections. The textures were pleasing, and the aromatic blend of spices lent an inviting essence to the dish. However, there was a noticeable room for improvement in the culinary execution. The slightly undercooked onions somewhat detracted from the overall experience, as did the subtle need for an elevation in the amalgamation of spices.
Although the culinary vibe leaned towards the essence of Indian cuisine, it appeared that the authenticity could be further emphasized. There seemed to be a trace of compromise aimed at cost-cutting, which hindered the potential for delivering an exceptionally authentic taste that many food enthusiasts seek. That being said, the dining experience was truly delightful, creating a welcoming environment that invites patrons to linger and enjoy the ambience.
For those yet to delve into the realm of Hyderabadi Biryani, BarBQ Tonite could serve as an initial introduction. However, it's worth noting that for the discerning palate seeking the pinnacle of Biryani excellence, other establishments might offer a more elevated gastronomic journey.
Overall, the culinary adventure at BarBQ Tonite was promising, with the undeniable potential for growth and refinement. With a little more attention to detail and a heightened emphasis on authentic flavors, this eatery could undoubtedly elevate its standing within the city's vibrant...
Read moreNOTE: if you are taking any pickups at this restaurant first you need to taste it when you are at restaurant and get it exchanged or returned immediately Orelse you need to forget your money or waste your time.
I was a regular customer for this restaurant and mostly we order biryani trays⊠few days back i have travelled all the way from Brampton to pickup chicken dhum biryani small tray and after going home we noticed that biryani had bad smell and it tasted very bad. They literally gave us a spoiled biryani. Then I immediately called the restaurant and informed about the issue and the restaurant guys asked me wait for 2 mins and never responded till next 40 mins. Later he told me to get back that biryani so again I went back to the restaurant to return that spoiled biryani and the owner of the restaurant met me outside the restaurant and checked the biryani and confirmed that the biryani was spoiled because they used spoiled homemade curd⊠but what we felt is they are using old frozen chicken and thatâs why it was smelling so bad. later he promised to return my money. But I had to waste my time and travelled 3 times to pickup and return that spoiled biryani because the staff couldnât solve my issue over the phone and he restaurant owner or the restaurant staff had no concern about it.
The most funny part is I paid 65$ plus taxes for the biryani and later when I returned that spoiled biryani the restaurant staff returned me just 65$ and refused to return the taxes which I paid. I had to argue with staff to return my...
