(A) Not sure why I returned to this place! Stay away! You could be discriminated against! I ordered coffee like everyone else, dressed normal, sitting by myself on my cell computer. There were six other people reading, and on computers. Lady comes over to me and tells me they are closing now. She could have announced it to everyone. I looked around but noticed the other people were not aware, nor getting ready to leave. I did not hear her say anything to them. The manager came to me and said I can stay another half hour as he's staying late. He could have also announced this to everyone else as well and did not go over to anyone to tell them they could stay longer. I stayed a bit longer, noticed no one else was getting ready to leave, did not say anything and left. Was not sure if others paid attention to her tell me they are closing soon. Not sure if others paid attention to the manager say hes staying a half hour longer. Music was not that loud, and it's easy to hear. Either way, its not right to single out someone. Not sure when they really closed? The next day, I called and spoke to the manager about it as it still bothered me. He lied and said he heard her say it to everyone else. Then said to come in and he'll fix me a nice cold drink. I did come in, a few hous later, he saw me, welcomed me back, but did not make any drink at all. He saw me order one, and I was charged for it. Then I went back another time, ordered a croissant for around $5.00 and it was stale. No.more! No Thanks!! I guess if you sit a bit too long, and don't reorder they want you to leave, even though there are other empty tables.
Interesting. Don't often see so many 5 star reviews with several photos?
(B) As for the reply down below I ordered a cappuccino and croissant. $8.79 was the price. It was a mistake, not a lie. I don't lie about stuff. I prefer giving good reviews. The croissant was hard, and 100% dry. Croissants are moist and soft. I could barely swallow it! Should have asked for a refund since it was the last one. In the reply down below the Owner, not the manager made it sound like he let me sit there for some time. I left before anyone else. And I'm not deaf. No one else was told the store was closing. No one was leaving. Nor did he have to tell anyone else that they could stay an extra half hour cause they were not going anywhere. He knew who I was when I called because I was the one singled out. And as for him asking me to come in and offering to make me some nice drink, well someone's lying eh!? It's not me. What nerve. Dishonest, poor customer service, with stale food . Three strikes! Sorry! Would just like to know what that female servers problem is, and why the Owner, as it says in reply, not Manager had to go out of his way to fix her problem, but was too cheap to make good on...
Read moreI went with my friends to study today, it was my first time at this cafe my friend had been here a couple times and she spoke so highly of it but I canât say the same. I sat down and put an unopened can of redbull on the table and was told no outside drinks or food which I was okay with so I put the redbull back in my purse. My friends went to order their coffee and the same waitress said that redbull was okay to drink just this one time, unprovoked she said this, my friends did not mention anything to her she wasnât even the one to be taking their order. Anyways we noticed her as she kept creeping her neck to look at our table multiple times when the shop was empty. Then as I opened mt redbull I was wondering if they had fruit syrups to put a pump or two, as she was walking by I asked the her if they had, then she said in a very rude manner and a tone how this isnât even allowed she would get in so much trouble gave us attitude like we made a problem, she said sheâll get screwed something along the lines of the owner is here âthis is one time behaviour donât let it happen again and donât let this create a fussâ I wish I was joking. listen we understand but this all happened unprovoked like we were just sitting and she made a problem on her own and behaved like we were doing something illegal or made any type of issue. I have worked in customer service many years of my life and this is absolutely unacceptable. I think she was a manager or some sort of supervisor because at one point she was on a laptop. I donât know her name but this happened wednesday, January 15 2025. Around 1:30pm she had a ponytail and was wearing white shoes black bottoms and a greyish...
Read moreTL;DR - Unfortunately, you must buy something to earn the ownersâ respect here.
Consider how many Google reviews involve an item being bought from the menu, and then consider mine. Regardless of how good the coffees and other products are, I was treated like a business partner, not a person. If you are fine with being treated that way, please ignore my review.
You cannot sit here and study unless you buy something from the menu, quickly. I understand this is a business like any other, and that there are costs that need to be covered, but giving respect is free. I was spoken to twice about not being able to eat a snack that I brought from home, and then to go to the library to study (it was closed) since I hadnât bought anything from the menu yet. I was planning on staying here for the day and buying snacks & coffee throughout the day to study, but I just ended up going somewhere else.
Apart from the terrible hospitality I received, the espresso bar does look nice and is comfy, accompanied by some jazzy music. The music may be loud for studying or holding a small meeting, but it isnât distracting by any means.
I wish I could review this business for their coffees and other items on the menu, but unfortunately I was deterred away before I could even...
