I went to Brar’s on 3/18 and ordered a Thali. Below are the ratings.
Food 4/5 : In Thali, there were quite a good option to choose from so I decided to go with Dal Makhani, Kadi Pakora and Matar Paneer in gravy, Vegetable Pulav in rice, Tawa Roti in breads and there was an option of Sweets or Raita. We choose Raita. The food over all was great in taste especially Dal Makhani. The spice level and consistency of the gravies were maintained well. Dal Makhani was creamy with the usual smoky flavor and was made with perfection that was seen with its presentation. The cream was spread diligently so that its not overdone. The Kadi Pakora was slightly thick which took it on a bit dry side, If having with rice, but the tanginess was up to the mark and pakora were soft and mushy to dissolve in the mouth. Matar Paneer was equally tasty and as I said earlier the spice level was maintained, paneer pieces were a bit hard and chewy but not a much of a blocker in enjoying the taste. What I found a bit off was the vegetable pulav, though it tastes good, but I couldn’t find the kind of freshness that it should have had. This is where I thought I should have gone for a plain rice maybe that would have been better. The Raita was fresh and delicious with a good number of veggies in it and a slight overdo of spices but thankfully it did not hinder the taste. And finally, the Tawa rotis were served hot and fresh with a hint of oil or may be ghee (couldn’t recognize) brushed over it. But overall an enjoyable meal. Oh yes and the portion size were good too, we were 2 people and we just had to add 1 additional Tawa roti to make a dinner for 2.
Price 4/5: Considering the portions and the taste, I would say the price is not bad. We paid $18.99 for a thali, $2.50 for 1 additional roti. So, Including HST ($2.80) we paid the total amount of $24.29. Which I think for 2 people wasn’t bad at all.
Service 4.5/5: This scores a good point. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a girl with a big smile on her face (missed out on her name in an excitement to get a place) and was escorted to the table. I was served by a girl named Aditi Bhargav, she was equally professional and very service oriented. All the servers were on toes and easily approachable. I’m emphasizing on this thing because off lately I’m quite disappointed with the kind of service the Indian restaurants across GTA is providing, its more of take it or leave it. But at this place the service element was quite good. I hope its maintained as is in the future.
Ambience 4/5: As this is newly built, it would be obvious that the place would have new interiors. But for me the ambience includes seating comfort, its brightness of light to read things and most importantly the washrooms. So, they have a couch setup and chair setup too which is absolutely comfortable. The lighting in the area was dimmed but still well spread out. The washrooms were clean with a decent fragrance there. The walls are painted dark but as I said that lights are carefully spread out, so it doesn’t creates a dark atmosphere. The restaurant is divided into sweets and snacks section as well. But the split is 80/20 i.e., 80% dine-in area and 20% in the takeaway/sweets section so there is ample of space to accommodate guests in the dine in setup. The cutleries were clean and new and looked quite good.
Recommendation: Overall, the experience was nice and enjoyable. But the only recommendation is to add sweet in the Thali rather than giving an option of Sweet or Raita.
Am I going again: Yes

Read moreBrar Restaurant in Erin Mills, Mississauga, is a true gem for vegetarian food lovers. Located in a vibrant plaza often referred to as the "food paradise" of Mississauga, this restaurant has consistently maintained its reputation for delivering exceptional taste and quality. Having visited Brar before, I already knew that when it comes to authentic vegetarian cuisine, they are in a league of their own. This visit reaffirmed my belief that no matter how many times I return, Brar will never disappoint.
From the moment I stepped inside, the cozy and inviting ambiance made me feel at home. The interiors are warm and well-lit, making it an ideal place for families to dine together. It’s the kind of restaurant where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal without feeling rushed. The staff was equally impressive—they were incredibly courteous, welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable from the start. Their friendly approach added to the overall dining experience, making it all the more enjoyable.
This time, I decided to go for their "Make Your Own Thali" option, which allowed me to mix and match my favorite dishes. I ordered Laccha Paratha along with Paneer Tikka, Navratan Korma, Dal Makhni, and Kadhi Pakoda. Each dish was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavors that took me back to authentic home-cooked meals. The Laccha Paratha was flaky and buttery, complementing the creamy and well-seasoned Paneer Tikka. The Navratan Korma was rich, packed with a delightful mix of vegetables and nuts, while the Dal Makhni had the right balance of creaminess and spice. The Kadhi Pakoda, one of my all-time favorites, was tangy and comforting with soft, flavorful pakoras soaked in a perfectly spiced yogurt-based curry. Every bite was indulgent, and I could honestly eat these dishes forever.
One of the things I truly appreciate about Brar is their consistency. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, the food quality remains exceptional, and you always walk away satisfied. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high standards across all their dishes. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic and delicious vegetarian food in Mississauga. She shared that they use traditional methods and high-quality ingredients, which ensures that every bite, from the saag to the sweets, feels like it was just made.
