DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY at Nihari Inn (Ridgeway Plaza). This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. Four of us — including a pregnant woman and one person visiting from out of town who’s about to leave for another country — came in hoping to have a nice meal together. Instead, we were seated at a dirty table with old dishes still there. No one wiped it down, no fresh water was offered, and a disgusting old jug from a previous table was just left behind. We asked for water three times — finally they brought it, but only three mismatched glasses for four people. We ordered our food — no drinks arrived. They brought the wrong naan (plain instead of butter) and we had to keep chasing them for everything. Fifteen minutes into eating, we were still missing drinks and one of us still didn’t have a glass of water. It took five different staff members fumbling around about one simple drink. I had to get up and walk to the counter just to remind them again. By the time it finally came out, we were already done eating — and honestly, after that, I didn’t even trust it. The food itself was tiny, overpriced, and completely underwhelming. We asked to speak to the manager — they said they’d “call her,” but then admitted she “doesn’t care about these kinds of complaints.” That sums up the attitude perfectly. When it came time to pay ($176 for a disaster), we expected out of basic courtesy that they would at least take off the drinks and the masala fries — but nope. Instead, they were too busy being offended that I dared to point out — very politely — how bad the service was. I could’ve just directly asked for the manager instead of trying to reason with a bunch of very young boys who clearly had no clue what they were doing. Honestly, it’s not their fault — whoever trained them failed them. I even told them they were doing their best under poor management. An older women came out to tell me I had no compassion, all I wanted was a discount for my more than horrible service for what was a special, you have some compassion! 62% of the bill was fine, they should’ve thought about discounting the rest. I’ve attached the receipt to reflect why. I even circled what was fine and what wasn’t so they could see. I see how this offended them instead of illuminating them how bad their service was. It could’ve been a learning moment. Instead of any accountability, they made excuses about being “busy” — when there were only three tables occupied majority of the time. This was supposed to be a special meal — it turned into a complete disappointment. Dirty restaurant. Terrible service. Management that doesn’t care. Overpriced, basic food. Save yourself the time and the money — Nihari Inn Ridgeway Plaza is a disgrace.

So guys, I am an avid foodie and I don't settle for peanuts and biscuits 😊 this is my 6th time going to Nihari Inn and it surpasses my expectations everytime. Let's start with the location, it's on Mavis road with plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about that. The place can easily take 150 to 200 guests but the fact that their food is on a level that has no competition (and I mean it when I say it), you need to call them to reserve a table just to be on the safe side. I travel for food and I over the years I have traveled to locations I can't even pronounce 🤣 food takes me places!!!! But this gem of a place will never let you down. I can in a heart beat tell you that this is the list authentic place when it comes to Pakistani food (Indians will feel at home as well as the spices are similar and will remind them of their home). I have tried almost 60% of teh or menu and so far the whole experience has been magical. The name says it all, come for the Nihari with all its condiments and you will stay for the Haleem, kababs, Gola kabab, biryani and all teb other amazing dishes this place has to offer. This is not your ordinary restaurant that is being run by employees with the owners chilling at home. Mr. Amer (the co-owner) takes care of operations and makes sure everything is flawless and his wife takes care of the rest of the stuff. They both will personally visit your table and ask of everything is as per your expectations. They have an amazing daughter who works there and makes sure teh guests are taken care of and are satisfied with their experience. The Nihari comes loaded with meat and you can order extra meat for a minimal price tag...you can even add extra nali (bone marrow)...the Haleem is not your blended Haleem, it's the authentic dish that is manually smashed for hours to give yoh that thick wholesome texture...the Naan was fluffy, hot and at teh same time so light that you will order your 2nd and 3rd..the service is on point with courteous hosts that will make you feel at home...all in all, this place deserves michilin star certification for their authencity, original recipes and flawless operation. Will never stop coming here...thanks Nihari Inn for extending your hospitality and surpassing standards of fine dine Pakistani authentic food...see you guys next weekend 😊

I don’t like writing negative reviews but I was genuinely disappointed with the food. After reading reviews of this place, my husband and I decided to check out this place. I ordered a chicken biryani, half chicken Karai, Bihari kebab, garlic naans, regular nihari and drinks. The chicken karai and nihari was filled with so much oil. The portions were EXTREMELY small. Our bill was roughly around $120 with tips, I have never been served such little portions even in fine dining restaurants .The karai had literally 4 pieces of chicken, nihari had 1 piece of beef . Lastly the Bihari kebab lost its shape and became mushy beef which was also not aesthetically pleasing. I understand that it’s covid and that’s why the management is probably trying to make money for the losses it cut, but honestly tap water should be free regardless of where you go, covid/ not from cheap foot path restaurants to fine dining, water is a basic necessity provided to all in Canada. I mean this isn’t Pakistan. This place forces you to buy bottled water because they don’t serve tap water, which was very mediocre. We had a baby with us and no utensils were supplied, normally Indian /Pakistani restaurants supply water due to their nature of spicy food. When a restaurant has this tendency I generally think it has to do with cheap and stingy owners/management. Not worth the money, save your money and go to Zauq or Lahore Tikka. You’ll get double the food without compromising the quality, and not to mention food that’s not dumped in oil. Finally the 1 star is only for the taste of the biryani. Overall I would not return. It does not live up to the hype and expectation we went in with.

We were a group of four who decided to try this place for the first time on a Saturday night at 1 AM. We ordered the Boneless Koila Chicken, three garlic naans, and one appetizer – Chicken Bihari Boti. Let me list out everything that went horribly wrong: We were charged an outrageous $80 for just these few items. Out of that, $38 was for a HALF boneless Koila Chicken. When we asked the cashier, he gave us a ridiculous excuse: “It’s because you ordered it boneless.” Excuse me? The menu lists Koila Chicken at $28–$29. Charging nearly $10 more just for boneless—and not even mentioning that in advance—is daylight robbery. If you’re going to jack up prices like that, at least have the basic decency to inform the customer before finalizing the order. The so-called $38 Koila Chicken was dry as hell. All we saw was some dry chicken chunks tossed with caramelized onions. There was no gravy whatsoever—it felt like we were eating another dry appetizer. I understand some karahis don’t come swimming in gravy, but this wasn’t karahi. This was plain roasted chicken masquerading as a main dish. And what’s worse? After looking at other reviews, the pictures people posted of their Koila Chicken looked NOTHING like ours. Ours looked like the sad, rejected version of what’s advertised. Basic restaurant etiquette 101: appetizers come FIRST. Not all the food dumped on the table at once. Yet that’s exactly what they did—brought the appetizer, mains, and naans all together. Completely ruined the flow of the meal. Speaking of the naans—we ordered butter garlic naans, but what we got were thin, brittle, cracker-like monstrosities. They were so crisp, they felt like papadums. Try eating dry chicken with something that shatters in your mouth—all of us ended up with cuts inside our mouths from chewing that nonsense. An absolute disaster. When the food arrived, we weren’t even given cutlery. I politely asked the server to get us some. He said “okay,” then walked away and went back to cleaning. Never came back with anything. So we sat there, food getting cold, no cutlery, just staring at this overpriced mess. It was late at night and I had no energy to click any pictures which I regret.

At the end, we told the cashier how disappointed we were, and he just couldn’t care less. No apology, no acknowledgement. And after reading through some other reviews, I noticed the owner responds with the same copy-pasted, smug replies to everyone—bragging about their “pride” in service. Seriously? If you truly had pride, you’d actually listen to feedback, not dismiss it with robotic replies.

This was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had—not just in Ridgeway Plaza, but in all of Mississauga. Never going back. And I strongly suggest others avoid this place unless they want to waste money and ruin...

Recently we visited this place and had horrible experience. We were 4 and ordered Koila Chicken karahi (this Karahi absolutely had no charcoal flavour), Nihari, Beef Bihari, and Chicken Bihari boti. None of the food items had any taste. Most tasteless food we ever had. The Beef Bihari was completely Raw and cold from inside. We had the raw Bihari boti in our plates, called and showed the server. He took the dish that had only 30% leftover Beef Bihari. A good amount (70%) of Raw Bihari boti we had already in our plates, as shown in pictures. After making us wait for 15 minutes the waiter came back with the same 30% left over amount of the same raw meat cooked, that he took with him. They didn’t replace/ make it fresh with full amount. They just cooked what was left in the dish and sent back. Nearly 70% quantity of the Raw Bihari meat dish was not consumed and left in the plates.

We expected they won’t charge for this wasted dish as it was a big blunder on their part and a waste. To our surprise they added the full amount in the total bill. I asked the lady at the counter that half of this dish was raw and thrown away. She shamelessly says why would we not charge? Mistakes happen it doesn’t mean we give it for free.

There are some etiquettes and decorum that are followed by the Restaurant industry. Your mistake ruined our evening. You made us feel awful when we ate the raw meat. Your mistake made us wait for 15 minutes in between the dinner. You made us pay for the raw food that you served. They had the audacity to further charge 15% of gratuity directly on the bill. We paid $160+ for this horrible food with no taste. For this amount we could have easily enjoyed a classy buffet dinner for 4. The behaviour of this restaurant is as if they are operating in some slum in Karachi. You are running a restaurant in Canada, learn the basic rules followed by Canadian Restaurants. Response to the owner’s reply: I’m amazed at the audacity of the owner how shamelessly he resorted to absolute lies. You guys did not replace the dish. You only cooked the left over raw portion left in the dish, instead of replacing the full raw Bihari boti that you served us. For your information, Automatic gratuity can only be charged on a table of more than 6-8 people. We were 4 people, still you cheats forcefully charged automatic gratuity. You have deceptive business practices and mentioned 5 people on the receipt. Check the date and time on the receipt that I uploaded. Check your cameras and see we were 4 people on that table. Shame on your cheap tricks !! I would advise customers to avoid...
