Soul 5 — Restaurant in Mississauga

I ordered the soul 5 with honey garlic sauce. I was a little skeptical of the chicken portion as you have the option of either 2 wings or 2 chicken strips, i went with the strips as i thought it would be more chicken. The meal comes with the chicken on top of mac and cheese, a piece of garlic bread on the side and corn with sauce on the side. The mac and cheese was decent, i do think it could be seasoned better. the chicken was juicy and well seasoned, the honey garlic wasn’t too sweet which i enjoyed. the garlic toast didn’t have much of a garlic flavour and at the end of the day bread is bread. the corn tasted like it was boiled and they just added a dollop of mayo on top, i did not finish it. My friend ordered the same meal but with hot sauce on the chicken and replaced the corn with garlic bread. Both of us ate about half of the food before getting flavour fatigue, so we took it home. i did re heat it and it tasted the same which was good. i also ordered the sunset drink, it was good but not what i expected, it tasted like carbonated water with syrup in it (shirley temple vibes). overall i don’t think i would come again but it...

Didn’t eat in but while waiting noticed the vibe was pretty cool. Called in ahead to order take out. Their website has no prices so I relied on a menu the business posted as a google photo only a few days ago. Not too thrilled to see the prices have already been increased when I went in. Small irk but I get it in these times. While phoning in the person who answered heard I was phoning in an order and audibly said “xyz it’s for you” before putting me on hold and passing me on. Xyz was attentive though. I asked for plain wings with sauce on the side so they’ll hopefully stay crispy on the journey home. From my receipt you can see she accommodated the request so I was pleased and grateful to hear it. However when I returned home I opened a box of soggy sauced wings. Sigh.

The food was a little bland to me in contrast to some of these other reviews. Personally Honey - Soul Food on Dixie Road is the benchmark for me for this type of food in Mississauga.

Did not notify them about the soggy wings. Didn’t want to make the journey back to get the right order. I probably won’t...

I waited nearly 40 mins waiting for the food. There were four groups of people who ordered AFTER me and they all got their food before I did, and my order was no where near big to warrant 30 something minutes. Completely unacceptable and I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews, I usually let things slide but this was super annoying to deal with. I came far as well for this place since I saw it on TikTok and I left heavily disappointed. And they got one part of my order wrong, but honestly I did not want to wait for them to get it right after they offered a refund and to fix it. That wasn’t end of the world but still annoying.

With that said the food was good, so I would recommend it to other people. Just be prepared for a long wait time and remember to continuously ask for your order. The Mac and cheese was yummy with the tenders, the biscoff drink was like all the other biscoff drinks, very good and tasty. But yeah disappointed with the wait time but I appreciate the girl apologizing. I really hate to leave bad reviews but yeah lol....
