The owner is discriminatory against people who walk in with service animals. They refused to provide me service even though I showed the owner the government mandated requirements.i am visiting from the states and I checked the Ontario laws about service animals specifically dogs. Service Canada states that you cannot deny someone with a disability service especially if they have the proof of their disability. The owner of this restaurant refused to read the medical documentation I provided to him stating I need to have a tag officiated by a Canadian federal organization. When I asked him what happens to out of towners with service animals? He had no response for me. He completely dehumanized me and said i was not welcome. All the while ignoring my medical documentation and refusing to read it. I also asked him to speak to my doctor and he said no. He has something against disability or probably my dog. But this is not only immoral it is also illegal. It makes me sad for a country that embraces diversity and inclusivity that I am still being discriminated in 2024. There is a 100k fine for anyone refusing service to a person with a disability and not to mention media publications that would be very interested in this story. It's sad we were loyal customers of this place and the food was decent but they dont know how to accommodate people with disabilities. This person humiliated, dehumanized, and discriminated me... he also said I did not know the law and that he has the right to deny me service even when I had proof. Shame on him, he almost made me cry because everyone was staring at me and my family as if we were faking it. It's hard enough having issues and needing a service animal let alone when you are kicked out of a place and made to feel absolutely worthless by someone who clearly does not respect their community members and vulnerable populations. I told him to learn the law as I walked out. Not worth my time but if you have a service animal save yourself the trauma and humiliation in arguing with someone who clearly doesn't want an "animal" in their business. I hope this person gets the necessary training and someone reads this review and takes action to put an end to this discriminatory and...
Read moreWe went to this place on the recommendation of one of our friends. We were 2 families who visited this place for dinner last night. We got our table in no time. However as soon as we were seated, the server instead of greeting just asked what’s your starter order. We requested for some time as we were just settling, we also had 3 kids on the table so obviously we would need some time to figure out things. Anyways she was back in 2 mins. This was so annoying. We ordered 1 starter as kids were still trying to find out what they want. To which she said only one starter…. We explained kids are working on it please come little later. Here she was again in few mins. We managed to place the order. The starters were horrible in taste. Chicken atleast had good presentation but Gobi manchurian was so awful. As the families were talking, our server was back again what do you want for main course. This was OMG moment. I understand this rush if d place is full and there is a big line up, this wasn’t the case. We just ordered the food and decided to finish it as we were annoyed with the whole set up. Main course was tasteless too. Lastly, we asked for to go boxes, to which they said they will pack and get it for us. We were whatever ! They took our food and mixed everything together instead of separate boxes. We are done with this place. We went to Tim Hortons after this and had a much better time than this place where we had someone on our head all the time. Ignore this place , as the food , service and anything else you look for when visiting a restaurant was missing here. There are much better n friendly Hakka places in...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to come here for a very long time. Not sure what took me so long. Definitely one of the best Hakka places I’ve been to. I think the service was superb from start to finish. They make you feel welcome from when you walk in and by the end they don’t even hesitate to wrap up your leftovers. I just felt a friendly family atmosphere the entire way through. This was our first time here for Mother’s Day and my dad who is a picky eater was eating everything we ordered lol. We ordered the Chilli Chicken with gravy, Hakka Chow Mein, Spice and Pepper Wings and Special Fried Rice. I honestly have zero complaints. All dishes provided quality, quantity, spice levels and deliciousness! I’m honestly going to say the Spice and Pepper Wings were a standout. The garnish they provided with it was next level. Never underestimate the garnish. My next favourite was the Hakka Chow Mein. It provided so much shrimp and chicken I couldn’t downplay my dad trying to pick all the shrimp out. Special fried rice which is shrimp and chicken as well was just as good. Chilli Chicken with gravy is what they are known for but I think the advantage is pairing the dish with the rice because on it’s on I didn’t think it was all that. You can use the gravy sauce with the rice and damn that was it! The seating seems limited but everyone seemed to have gotten served and seated in timely fashion. It’s definitely worth a try if you never been. I recommended my list as a first timer. I will update if we visit again with other dishes. There was 3 of us and 50% of the food was left to take home. Well worth the price for today’s...
