MUSLIM CUSTOMERS LOOKING FOR HALAL BEWARE
Their flyers show they serve halal. Last Thursday I called to confirm. They said their chicken is Halal. I asked for a supplier name and they said Amir Meats. My co-worker and I placed an Uber Eats order.
Today we placed a pickup order for 8 sandwiches, a chicken one for myself. When I went to pick up the order I asked for additional menus. At that point the cashier, who I confirmed is the manager, said that Halal is available on request and costs more. I was shocked because I wasn’t told that last week.
I informed her of my call last week and said I eat Halal only. I asked if she would remake the sandwich. She said yes if I would pay for it. I told her that wasn’t fair as I had called last week to ask about the Halal menu and wasn’t informed it needed to be requested. She said Halal was by request only and cost extra.
I again asked if she would remake the sandwich in good faith as I hadn’t been informed last week. Her reply was “well you ate it last week so you can eat it again.” I replied that last week I had been misinformed and didn’t know it wasn’t Halal. I told her we enjoyed the sandwiches and would be returning customers so could she please make it again. She said only if I paid again because the one that was already made would be wasted. She also went to say “others have come in, realized it’s not Halal unless requested and have taken it anyways.” I told her that was their choice but I did not eat non-Halal.
She refused to remake the sandwich without payment. And her comments were rude and disrespectful. What made it worse was she was the manager.
I stated the customer service was awful and left with the order. The sandwich went to a co-worker. — eating lunch...
Read moreI tried the jr chicken sandwich and jr veal sandwich. I think overall the food tasted great, although I wasn’t a big fan of the veal sandwich i just tasted a little odd to me, hard to describe. The chicken sandwich was almost perfect, but I would of preferred it more if it had less sauce to prevent it from being soggy. My major complaint and the reason for the 3 star is the price, each topping is $1.25 and the 2 jr not even regular sandwiches came down to $27.21! For Both sandwiches I added mushrooms, onions and cheese as additional toppings.
Note, both regular and jr sandwiches come with the same stuff before any extra additions. Which is just the meat, sauce and bread. I don’t think the sandwich is worth the price simply because it’s an italian sandwich. I can make better sandwiches at home at a much cheaper price. Also to note the mushrooms used were the mushrooms you could find at freshco.
I would recommend for the owners is for three business directions
Use more premium ingredients for the toppings to make sense of the price Lower price in general to be competitive Give something extra with the sandwich such as fries or onion rings,...
Read moreThis was my second trip to this place. The sandwiches are awesome, and that in itself is reason to go back. What's more is that they get to know you:
My first trip was with a friend from work and they knew him by name, even though he hadn't been there for a few months! This visit the owner*, Shaz, asked for my name (I asked him too), how I heard about the restaurant, what I do for a living, etc. It was just friendly conversation and it made my experience there that much better. I had the Veal sandwich, pretty much fully loaded and extra hot! I had hot the first time and it wasn't hot for me, but extra hot had some serious kick! Apparently the 'hot' sauce is made with jalapenos and the 'extra hot' with ghost peppers and habanero. Awesome sandwiches at a reasonable price. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area for work...
*I'm making an assumption that he is at least a part owner because of how he...
