Since they ignored my email...I’ll post it here too.
Last week my two friends and I visited the Grand Park location and my experience went from good to horrific. The employee Casey served us our food with a smile and continued to help other customers. While I was pouring my white chocolate out of a miniature glass, I uncovered a shard of glass hidden within the chocolate. Obviously I was in shock immediately asked “is that glass?!”, my friends then took it, wiped it off & confirmed.
So I spoke with the first employee Keanna about it and she said she would take it to the MANAGER to figure out what it is and what they can do to help me. She then goes back for 5-7 minutes and she comes back saying the most they can do is take off 15% off my tab.
15% for what almost ended up slicing my mouth felt like a slap in the face. I’ve never experienced something like this and to top it off the Manager on duty, Sara G (who she claimed to be at that time) was especially apathetic towards my situation. She said there was “nothing else I can do. I could apologize 1000 times and can’t do anything else to help you with that.”
She proceeds to tell me she’s giving a 15% COUPON for next time I want to come in. I say why would I want to come again? She then says had I NOT paid she’d have given me 50% off. How could she say she cannot do more then retract and say she CAN only give 50% off? Ridiculous.
so I asked again who’s the owner of the corporation...She says she’s the highest it goes. I ask AGAIN and she finally gives me a name and number and asked what else could she do more (condescending tone). The employee Casey made it a point to say that she had never seen this woman Sara before. Sara claimed to be who I’d be speaking to at head office and almost refused to give me insight as to who I could speak to about the matter.
At this point I’m left feeling like this matter wasn’t anywhere near rectified and I was the person who recommended Dunk n Dip in the first place.
Ps. We had to send the glass for water back because they were all...
Read moreI am so disappointed. I have a big sweet tooth and loved Dunk n Dip when they were at their Port Credit location, before they closed and went to Burnhamthorpe. I went in tonight with my friend for the first time at their new location and won't be coming back. Their old location was small with a huge menu, their new location is large but has a tiny menu. I noticed that the crepes and fondue section cut down drastically. I was considering to just get up and leave, but stayed because we drove from Oakville to go there specifically. Looks like the new management cut the menu by around 75%.
I ordered the Brownie Magic, which literally had those store bought 2 bite brownies (about 5 of them), just upside down and topped with a scoop of ice cream. I could've made it at home, for half the price. I was expecting an in house made brownie. The taste was meh. They also got rid of the table lamps, which was a staple of Dunk n Dip when it was in Port Credit. When we came in, the servers were just standing down the hall and staring at us walking over. They should be closer to the door and walking towards the customer. The server was very friendly at first, then she just disappeared the rest of the night. We waited 15 mins for her to come back to ask for the bill, she never did. So we got up and paid at the cashier. There were many staff just standing around too and just kinda awkwardly stared at people and each other. It was weird.
There aren't many places that are sit down and have a large dessert section, so I don't understand what the new management is trying to do. Save money? The plates, cups and platters all say Ikea on them. they open a restaurant but cheap out on the food? Yet, they also move into a very busy and prime location, next to Sheridan College's business school, a huge shopping mall, many condos and businesses. Obviously they want traffic, so maybe don't simplify a menu that was intended to be wild, fun, unique, daring and delicious. The new management ruined Dunk n Dip and I will no longer recommend...
Read moreCame here for dessert on a Sunday night at around 5pm. The place wasn't packed, it was about 60% occupied. There was no hostess to seat or greet us. The waitress acknowledges that we were waiting to be seated but they didn't approach us or greet us. We approached the counter to be seated. They just told us to sit anywhere we like. No menu, water or utensils were brought. We waited for half hour and no service was provided. We picked up our own menus from the side and waited with the light bulb on to order but no one came. When the waitress finally acknowledge we were ready to order she said she would come back to take our order and never did. We ended up leaving and not trying the food.
I'm totally disappointed with my experience here. I'm a regular at the other location and I can't believe what I witness at this location. It's nothing comparable. They are very disorganized and unwelcoming.
UPDATE SECOND VISIT
Came here again to give the place another try. However the service I received is still the same. The waitress here provide horrible service. Besides getting my order wrong they are still very disorganized. One thing that bothered me the most is the fact that when we were ready to pay the lady comes and cashes my friend out and then tells us that she will be back. But she ends up going to the other table to let them pay for their bill.. like how can you just leave to cash someone else out when you're not even done with cashing out table. That's very rude and people don't have time for you to partially do things and make them wait ... We asked for the bill first and when you started servicing us you should've finished our table and then go on and do whatever you need. But even after she finished cashing the other table out she didn't come back to let us finish paying. We had to call her over again. Horrible...
