The owner will be the reason this location ultimately fails. The lengths he will go to cut costs puts the companies reputation at risk.
I have given this location a few of tries and the benefit of the doubt, even gone so far as to directly call out the failure to adhere to the company's posted practices on their own website and the owner's willingness to cheap out on your dining experience is honestly breath taking and after a handful of consist negative experiences I am writing this to help you make informed decisions on where to spend your hard earned money because this location isn't it, and I cannot express how important the word location is because I have had nothing but amazing experiences at other locations of this franchise.
If you order the 'Create your own' pizza option at any Doughbox location you are paying an added premium for premium service of being able to select "unlimited toppings" as per the online menu at doughbox.ca but this owner does not allow his staff to give you more than 5 toppings, including the cheese. I watched as when I asked for mushrooms the employee stopped to count the number of toppings we had already added and informed me I was "at my 5 topping limit". The website does say that pizzas taste best with a max toppings of 5 but your toppings are unlimited in the 'Create your own' option and when asked about the discrepancy that is the portion of the menu he choses to highlight, not the "Unlimited toppings" that comes right before it. For reference, Doughbox has 4 premium pizza options on their menu currently that by default have 6 or more toppings included on the pizza for the exact same price as the build your own.
I need you to understand the lengths the owner is going to. This man took 1 single slice of salami, that was smaller than the size of a debit or credit card, and tore it up into 8-10 pieces as the portion of salami "topping" on my girlfriends $20 create your own pizza. Want to order Meat Lovers instead? Have you seen the picture online of how it's supposed to look? I counted the pieces of meat on the pizza I was given because I genuinely thought I had been given the wrong pizza. Here are the numbers: 12 peperoni, 0.5-1 meat ball broken up into tiny portions (genuinely could not tell if there was a full one it looked like it was half of one) and 6 Italian sausage. Every slice of pizza had 1.5 small pepperoni on average, a small piece of Italian sausage, and a little sprinkle of meatball. That's like 2-3 small pieces of meat per slice on a Meat Lovers pizza. This was a cheese pizza with scraps of deli meats every few bites. The worst "meat lovers" pizza I have every seen and please take a look at the online menu and make a decision for yourself on if that meets yours expectation.
Adding to this, the 'Create your own' option comes with a dip included in the $20 price. When I asked for a dip he went to charge me an extra $1.50 for it despite it being already included in the $20 "unlimited topping" pizza that he limits you to 5 toppings on. Immediately corrected him on this and said "oh yes you're right sorry" but this being charged for a dip when ordering a 'Create your own' pizza has happened now for the last 2 times we've tried this location to see if there's been improvement as truly the experience at other locations has been nothing but positive. That the owner has now twice tried to charge for something that he should know is included in the item and pricing of his own product is beyond concerning because the implication are either he doesn't know his products and business which seems unlikely or that there was intention of overcharging customers who do not know to correct him. My hope it's not the latter as it really makes you question how many others has this been done to who do not know they have already paid for a dip with their 'Create your own' purchase.
If you've made it to this point, needless to say I will not be returning to this location but instead will gladly visit any of the other ones that prioritize their customers...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the pizza place on Lakeshore, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the cozy ambiance and the enticing aroma of wood-fired pizza captivated my senses.
The highlight of this establishment is undoubtedly their outstanding wood-fired pizzas. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with a delightful smoky flavor that can only be achieved through authentic wood-fired baking. Each bite was a mouthwatering experience, with the toppings bursting with freshness and flavor. I highly recommend trying their signature pizzas; they are simply out of this world!
In addition to their fantastic pizzas, this place also offers fresh pasta that is nothing short of heavenly. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. Whether you prefer a classic marinara or a creamy Alfredo, their pasta dishes are sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.
One thing worth mentioning is that the pizza place is currently in the process of acquiring their LLBO license. Once they start serving alcoholic beverages, it will elevate the dining experience even further. I can already envision this place becoming the perfect spot to hang out on the Lakeshore, enjoying a wood-fired pizza and a glass of wine while taking in the street views.
The service at this restaurant was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their menu. They were more than happy to accommodate any special requests or dietary restrictions, ensuring that every customer has a memorable dining experience.
Overall, my visit to the pizza place was an absolute joy. The wood-fired pizzas and fresh pasta are to die for, and the future addition of LLBO servings will undoubtedly make it an ideal hangout spot on the Mississauga Lakeshore. If you're a fan of authentic Italian cuisine and appreciate a cozy atmosphere, I highly recommend paying this place a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Read moreCame here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend to try some new takeout in our area, and because we are suckers for a good pizza. The guy behind the counter appeared to be running the whole show solo but he welcome us very warmly and was very helpful when we asked for recommendations. It took a while for our food to be made, and that's when we realized that people usually call in to order ahead for takeout, or dine-in. We actually didn't mind waiting though; we very much appreciated seeing everything we ordered made from scratch, and we ordered quite a lot of food between the two of us (3 pizzas, pasta, dozen wings and salad). The man who greeted us and took our order was making our food.
While I was waiting, I was looking around the whole restaurant, the ceilings, the tabels, the decorative shelving, even the equipment behind the counter and what I could see of the kitchen, and I realized how incredibly clean this restaurant was. I didn't see a single speck of dust visible even on the high ceilings, every thing was tidy and no messes on working surfaces behind the counter, and every single item appeared in its place...even as the gentleman was preparing our food. The whole 30 mins we were there, I did not see 1 single fly which sounds silly to point out, but it was an experience I've never had at any restaurant no matter how clean. As a severe germaphobe and as someone who works in a field with high standards of cleanliness and sterility, this impressed me a LOT.
When we got home with our food, we were very impressed by the pizza...it was absolutely delicious and the dough to topping radio was perfect. The pizza had a perfect amount of crisp without being too oily. The wings were great and had that nice firey flavour to them. We didn't love the sides we got unfortunately and we likely won't get them again...which, to be fair, isn't a deal breaker at a pizza place; I wouldn't really expect amazing pasta and salad at a pizza restaurant. It was just fine. But we'll definitely be back for...
