Harvey's — Restaurant in Mississauga

Harvey's is one of my favorite fast burger joints, I've been a loyal customer for years. I moved to the area about a year ago and have been to this location four times since then and I hate to say it but this is the worst Harvey's I have ever been to. I've never had issues with the food itself, however wait times have been longer than I'm used to here. One problem for me is the drink machine not working - every time I have eaten here the syrup is missing from certain drinks and the ice does not work. They have a separate ice cooler so you have to manually add ice to your cup. On this issue I can't complain too much because they will give you a free bottled soft drink which would otherwise be more expensive - but to the owners, why don't you fix the bloody machine?! Everyone is complaining about it and surely you must be losing money by handing out free bottles for so long...

The worst part of the experience and main reaon for the 1 star is the washroom and seemingly complete lack of cleanliness. The washroom smelled horrible and generally very unclean with no soap and paper towels, which is an awful experience after having just finished a meal. I have seen numerous complaints in the reviews where the owner replies saying they will take these into consideration, but clearly they have not. Please clean the washrooms more thoroughly or I may have to escalate this complaint to public health. I know you can do...

Unfortunately I arrived at a time that seemed to coincide with lunch time of a private boys school. Line was long - 6 minutes from when I entered to when I ordered according to the time on my receipt. A man that had previously ordered started arguing with staff - that had repeatedly called out his order as being ready. He complained that he did not hear and had not been told that he needed to be nearby. Cashier tried to deal with him but after a few minutes a man that had been cooking was called up to the counter to deal with him. The customer was being very unreasonable and very loud. The altercation took more than 5 minutes. The cook returned to his station but no one else had taken over his job of cooking burgers and side orders. Soon after my burger was finally ready but no one had started cooking the onion rings I and the man behind me in line had ordered so I had to wait again. My 30 minute lunch break was over before I was finished eating so I was late getting back to work. I felt sorry for the staff as the customer was rather obnoxious. My food was ok - onion...

Not sure why all the hate for this Harvey's location (actually a Harvey's - Swiss Chalet combo). I was thrilled when I saw that one was opening in my area and I gladly keep coming back.

The staff is super-friendly, I've never had an issue with my order and you can't beat the value. I mean $5.99 + tax for a veggie burger combo (with coupon, that I have no shortage of)? You can't beat that. In addition, unlike a lot of other burger places, they're don't nickle & dime you if you want a side of ranch or their delicious pickles. Hero Burger bloody well charges you for it and even then, it's always a fight to get them to fill the container to the top.

One minor quibble is that they don't have veg gravy for their poutine (they use the Swiss Chalet gravy). I'm glad I asked about this and didn't remain blissfully...
