Holiday Gardens & Dodai Sushi — Restaurant in Mississauga

Came on a pinch late on Sunday night while in the area with one child screaming and nothing else open nearby. They weren’t doing dine-in but made an exception for us. (Thank you!).

My little ones (2 and 5) loved the food (including our picky guys) and the private booths. The staff were so sweet to them, checked on us multiple times even though they were busy with take out orders (and weren’t staffed for dine-in) The kind chef noticed the kids liking the fish roe and gave them individual cups of fish roe. (The kids were very happy.).

We had the sushi combo 2 (highly recommended as sushi platters often don’t come with as diverse of a mix of makis, sushis, and even two torched rolls), cucumber rolls, combo tempura, miso soup, rice and green tea. This place is amazing . Amazing ! Tried it last night for the first time and was so impressed with everything, from flavor and quality of food to service ! The chef came up to us and suggested the best way to eat the sushi (which roll to start with based in flavor etc ) which we had no idea of before this . Rolls were incredibly fresh and full of flavor . Quality was just top notch. The decor is really cute and authentic looking. I actually knew this place would be amazing the first time I passed by it, based on how it looked. Small, cozy, clean . The place itself doesnt look very nice or appealing but the sushi was amazing.

I was skeptical with this place at first because they serve both Chinese and Japanese but it seemed to be the only place I could find in Toronto with both Salmon and Tuna toro. Prices seemed reasonable too. First, I got my own booth and the waiter took my order. Food came out pretty quickly and everything was so fresh and delicious. This is the closest I’ve ever come to melt in your mouth sushi ever. When I was almost finished, the chef came out and offered me a salmon and tuna nigiri complementary, saying that they just came in and were very fresh. He acted like I was doing him a favour but he was doing me one. I was so happy and they were so nice. This is my new favourite sushi...
