WARNING VERY LONG POST BUT PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE GOING TO DINE IN TO THE RESTAURANT. I usually do not do reviews on restaurants but this is the worst I have ever experienced in an all you can eat restaurant.
My friend and I went here because we were craving for sushi and this is the closest all you can eat sushi in the area. Our server was a lady with brown hair and bangs, and she gave us the menu right away. As we were scrolling on the menu on the ipad we were wondering as to why there was not much selection of food on the menu. We dismissed this fact, until I asked our server where the sashimi option was in the menu (there wasn't any when we looked). She realized that she gave us the lunch menu list on the ipad (we came in during dinner time). I was furious because we had such little selection on food (lunch menu) yet we are paying for dinner full price. She did say sorry briefly so I expected during payment that we would pay for the lunch price or some sort of discount because it was the mistake of the server. This didn't happen so when saw our bill it was at dinner full price. I complained to the lady in the cashier (lady with black hair), and I said how it was unfair that we are paying for something that isnt worth $30 of the experience and food selection. After several minutes of argument with the lady in the cashier, she gave me a discount which I did appreciate but what upset me is that the lady in the cashier defended the server's mistakes a lot and the server didn't even try to own up her mistakes and take action right away. The lady in cash was very nice enough to give us a discount but they need train the people there not just about the job but (common-sense) costumer service in general. They need to own up with their mistakes, take full responsibility, and not expect to let the costumers pay full price for the experience that they do not deserve. It was so unfair! I work at costumer service and I would never do that, and I would pay for the mistake I made since I know that it is my fault, but no the lady with brown hair and bangs did not even take full responsibility. I really want them to realize they need to sharpen their costumer service.
THEREFORE CHECK YOUR MENU IF ITS AT EITHER LUNCH OR DINNER AT THE RESPECTED TIME YOU ARE AT THE RESTAURANT.
Food preparation was fast, they don't refill your water unless you ask (it wasn't busy when I came in), there was food underneath the table and there were ants lurking around it (forgot to take a pic, my friend and I sat by the wall at a two-seater booth), and food tastes mediocre. I've been to other all you can eat japanese reataurants with the same pricing or cheaper pricing, food tastes better and the service is way beyond excellent than what I have experienced here.
SO PLEASE WHEN YOU GO TO THIS RESTAURANT, CHECK YOUR MENU IF ITS RIGHT, LOOK UNDERNEATH YOUR TABLE IF THERE IS FOOD AND ANTS, AND EXPECT TO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis WAS my go to place. I have phases where I order everyday or go in with my fiance or family all the time. Lately I've been craving specific things and busy with work so I call to get take out omw home. Mind you I stopped going for a while because of a very rude female server who refused to honor the "pay cash" discount and served my friend 1oz of alcohol as opposed to 2 but charged for 2. Nevermind. Eventually I came back. I went in after work to get my take out and the guy behind the sushi counter saw me, ignored me. I stood there. A server was cleaning and didn't see me (that's fine). I wait and the guy leans on the sushi cutting board counter area, picks his nose and then goes to scroll on his phone. Then he picks, digging for gold, the other side his nose and continues scrolling his phone. The server at this point notices me and apologizes and the manager (?) comes out. He literally knows my order because I've ordered the same thing a million times and I tell him what the guy did (nose picking, phone scrolling) and he says "his hands are clean" so please explain to me how this is normal. At least go pick your nose in the bathroom. I really didn't want to write this review but halfway writing this I called and asked like how is this ok and the manager/owner said he had apologized to me which is untrue and said he "taught" that staff member a lesson and that the guy wears gloves while preparing food to which I said "doesn't matter, if you're going to pick your nose, at least do it in the back". Needless to say I threw the food I bought in the garbage. Ordered Pho instead. So thank you Kanda for wasting my money. This is literally the last time I waste my money there. There are so many other places in the area.
EDIT/ADDITION: Oh also, I got food poisining last week from the fried beef noodles but didn't say anything because I know things happen but after the nose picking I'm done. And on top of it all I didn't get my cash discount because apparently they change the...
Ā Ā Ā Read morea recent dinner at this sushi restaurant left me with decidedly mixed feelings.
the establishment is conveniently situated in a plaza, its purple signage clearly visible from the main intersection near a laundromat. while parking is ample, patrons should note the two-hour limit that might constrain a leisurely dining experience. upon entering, the restaurant initially appears somewhat confined, but cleverly extends into a lower level area with additional seating, effectively utilizing the available space.
my experience began with an unfortunate interaction regarding pricing. when i inquired about the $34 dinner price advertised on their website, social media, and restaurant posters, the server rather dismissively stated "that price was changed months ago." though they ultimately honored the advertised price, this initial exchange set an uncomfortable tone.
the quality of the food itself varied considerably. most disappointing was the rice, which lacked proper seasoning and the essential vinegar notes that elevate proper sushi. several rolls arrived noticeably cold, suggesting they may have been prepared well in advance of serving.
the sashimi, however, proved to be a highlight - fresh and flavorful as one would hope. unfortunately, the miso soup was excessively salty, overwhelming its more subtle flavors.
dessert provided a welcome conclusion, with a fried banana served delightfully hot and perfectly prepared.
while the restaurant has promising elements, particularly in the quality of their fish, issues with consistency and service detract from what could otherwise be a more satisfying dining experience. with some refinement, particularly to their rice preparation and customer interactions, this establishment could...
