Hi, I went to this place earlier this week because my friends suggested we should go because they have amazing Afghani food. I was excited to try what they have.
Me and one of my friends got the Wardak Kabob. First glance and bite food was delicious and we had no complaints. While eating me and my friend realized that the chicken was chewy and did not taste cooked, we cut our chicken and realized the chicken was in face RAW. Chicken is supposed to look white from the inside when cooked, ours looked greenish brown.
We complained and the chef made us a new plate which we truly appreciated. The food came out, and again the chicken was raw. I know how raw chicken looks like. I told the waiter and she called the chef. The chef then took my chicken and was ripping it apart infront of me trying to show it’s not raw. Once again the chicken had a brownish green colour and was PINK, It was also hard to cut and chewy.
The chef continued to prove his point but showing me the chicken is not raw and was trying to tell me I was lucky enough he made me another plate. I then asked may I atleast get a refund for my uncooked chicken and was denied because he already made me another plate.
I did not want to start an argument, thus I left the matter alone and did not touch my food.
Considering the chef showing disrespect to his customers I think two stars is generous.
Would not recommend this place. Expensive,...
Read moreI wonder if the positive reviews I am seeing here are due to a promotion they have to leave a review = get a free tea. My experiences have been more similar to a fast food restaurant (see below).
The food portions are large and great for a family or large group. Seasoning is mild if you don’t like spicy food.
My experience was odd — the service was quick but definitely not friendly. I don’t really mind but if service is important to you there seems to be some…bias in who gets served with enthusiasm vs who does not. Again, not important to me as long as the food is timely and cooked well but if that matters to you, then something to consider.
I have tried their kebabs and various chicken and beef based items off their menus, and while another review stated they felt the food was not authentic I will say you get what you paid for!
What to expect: You are expected to pick up your food from the front counter when it’s ready (you get a buzzer). You are expected to get your own drinks from the fridge. Your plate is on a tray and you are expected to clean up your table before you leave (empty tray and put it on the tray rack behind the counter). Minimal service from the staff, more like a fast...
Read moreI ordered the Ghazni Kabab Platter with Chicken Korma and Afghani Naan, and once again, it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a treat to my taste buds. The chicken was tender and well-marinated, while the naan was soft, fluffy, and paired wonderfully with the rich, creamy korma.
What elevated the experience was the service. The girl serving us was not only polite but also well-spoken, adding a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. Her friendly demeanor truly stood out.
The ambiance of the place deserves a special mention. The Afghani songs playing in the background set the perfect mood, creating a calming and welcoming vibe. It felt like being transported to a different culture, making the dining experience much more immersive. The simplicity of the decor, combined with its understated elegance, added to the charm.
This wasn’t my first visit, and it certainly won’t be my last. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, and a delightful atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just great food but also a memorable experience, this is the spot. Highly...
