We attempted to stop by on an earlier Toronto trip but couldn't justify the 2-hour wait. Over a couple months of recommendations from others, we made our way to Laari Adda for dinner. We were told a 30 minute wait was all that was between us and the food everyone we spoke to said was "delicious lekhain manga", though it turned out to be over an hour before we received our tables. The menu is condensed enough to fit into one single-sided menu, which indicated to us this may be a place that does only a few things but does them well. We opted to try as much food as we could, and we did: the Gol Gappay Shots made us laugh immediately seeing as they were only six per serving, the Nihari with Nulli was tender and wonderful, the Haleem was meaty and hearty, the Butter Chicken was overly sweet and had a strong tikka-chicken-in-sauce-somehow-equals-butter-chicken flavor, the Butter and Till naan were perfection, the Beef Bihari Puri Paratha Roll was spicious and filling, the Desi Club Sandwich was dominated by sweet sauce with miniature chicken cubes between crustless white bread, the Lahori Fish Tenders were crispy yet tasteless, the Masala Fries were Cavendish fries with one sprinkle of garam masala, the Rasmalai was refreshing and satisfying, the Gajar ka Halwa was buttery and warm, the Karak Chai was premade but tolerable, the Kashmiri was the worst excuse for Kashmiri chai with 90% milk and water. Our server, Faizan, also happened to be the manager who shared the owner also owns a shisha lounge. Though all the servers were attentive and caring, we felt ignored for the second half of our meal; told 2 servers our dessert orders, waiting 15 minutes to get the bill, then again for the card machine which combined with the couple subpar items knocked a 🌟 off for us. Perhaps the best things about Laari Adda are the atmosphere, the branding and the novelty. Beside the odd family get-together where it's a request, we don't see ourselves returning to Laari Adda in the future but can affirm it's hype as one of the best executed Pakistani...
Read moreI yesterday had the pleasure of visiting Laari Adda for dinner, I never give reviews but this time i will because I was thoroughly left happy and enjoyed. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted smiles. It was a bit busy but the girl asked me to wait until she gets the table ready. We were 9. But in the main while she was very helpful and recommended to take our order until the table was ready because kitchen was closing in few minutes. Then two staff got our table ready very quickly i like how they ran to help each others fast to seat us as soon as possible, and after we sat for around 10 minutes the food was ready. The servers were attentive, to ensure my dining experience was first rate. They were prompt in attending to my needs, quick to offer recommendations, and always had a friendly demeanor. The level of service was truly outstanding and elevated the overall experience.
Let’s talk about the food now. The food itself was generally quite good the presentation was beautiful and the flavors were enjoyable. However, I felt that some of the dishes could have benefited from a bit more seasoning or spice to really make the flavors pop. While not a major detraction, a slight adjustment to the seasoning profile could take the food to the next level and better complement the exemplary service. I really enjoyed the food its super delicious especially the niharis and malai boti was very delicious. We also got tikka boti it was a bit dry but overall very delicious.
Overall, my visit to laari adda was a very enjoyable one. While the food was good, it was the remarkable service and hospitality of the staff that truly made the experience memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a dining experience that goes beyond just the food. I look forward to returning soon and hope the kitchen team considers enhancing the seasoning on some dishes to match the...
Read moreAbsolutely MORTIFYING experience. I’ve been to Laari Adda before and while the past experiences have been alright.. my last experience there made me never want never go again.
I called around 10 to confirm what time the kitchen closes and the lady on the phone cornfield it stays open until 10:30 and the restaurant closes at all- shouldn’t have to explain that if you are keeping your kitchen open till 10:30, you are accepting orders until 10:30 and accepting that people will be sitting for a while after to finish their food.
We were greeted by the hijabi girl at the reception kindly and seated respectfully. She informed us kitchen will close at 10:30, so we had about 10 minutes of order, which was fine by me.
Next thing I know there is a bearded, short and chubby guy hovering over our table, who looks like he’s completely done with life and doesn’t have an ounce of manners. Instead of greeting, or asking us for our order he starts by saying “guys the kitchen is closing so you’re going to hurry and order”. He looks tired, he looks upset, he looks unhappy and unwelcoming. This is his first, opening interaction with us. I was at a loss for words.. we were there for a quick Eid celebration, dressed up, excited.. and this is how this man treats his customers. I would have absolutely been okay and they told me I can only do take out after 10, or had they told me kitchen is closed already, or even been honest that they’ll miserably accept my order until 10:30 for money but expect no service or no manners even though we’re technically open.
If I wasn’t with a guest, I would have left. Almost felt wrong sitting...
