A hidden gem.....Desi swaad..... The first bite of their spicy samosas took me down memorylane to my childhood. A bit spicy 🥵 but they have an authentic taste. This has set its standard among the best samosas this side of the Atlantic and I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect Indian snack experience. "Samosa" is a deep fried triangular fritter filled with potato and green pea and spices. It is enjoyed as a snack and breakfast side along with the Desi chai latte. Unlike the east European "samsa" which is baked (especially in Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan) the Desi "samosa" is deep fried. This place serves it with a sweet side dip which is perfect to compliment the hot 🔥 flavor of the samosa. I was reasonably satisfied with the service and amazed to see they had fresh and hot batch of samosas at 2030hrs, when most places have shut shop. They said they were preparing a large catering order and usually have a fresh batch every evening at about 1930hrs. Hygiene : 4/5 Service : 5/5 Taste : Oye hoye! This place has become my family's new favorite for samosas. At 50 cents each samosas are priced well above the usual neighborhood samosa shop but once you try it you would agree that it is worth every cent. They also have a huge variety of other sweet meats, farsan, chivda and baked products which I'm yet to try. All the best to Malton...
Read moreIf I could, I would give them a 0, I would. I went in yesterday and asked for 18 hot and freshly made samosas only to be given a box with warmed up and old samosas. They placed 11 samosas on the bottom of the box and 7 samosas on the top (which were fresh). When I stepped onto the bus, I noticed that people started staring at me and the box. Then, I noticed that something was wrong, but could not tell exactly what. When I got home to serve my family and guests with the samosas, I noticed the unusual smell. I went back to them today and asked for a refund. The owner's father and the girl that works at the front kept on convincing me that they will give me other samosas, which I refused. I was clear that I wanted a refund. So, they wanted to provide a partial refund. I then told them that my time is not free and that it was a huge inconvenience for me. They then decided to do a full refund. However, she gave me $ 6 instead of $ 7 and I had to go back to the counter and tell her how she tried stealing $ 1. I have posted a picture of the samosas for you to see how one samosa was fresh and the other two shown are the old ones. This is just to prove how they mix samosas. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM HERE - THEY WILL TRICK YOU ANY WAY THEY CAN!!! On another note, the place is filthy dirty. Who knows what else is inside where they bake...

I have been a regular customer for last 1 year going for dinner and snacks every week. However, recently I started noticing the changes: Portion size: Gulab jamuns, tikki, and samosas are smaller; salad has disappeared from the thali; and number of choices for thali have gone down from 7 to 6. Price changes: Thali price was increased by a dollar and I would have been OK with that, but not when clubbed with point #1.
My recent experience was the last straw for me. I picked up snacks and food for my and friend’s families and roti packet was missing. When I called the store, their perpetually ill-mannered staff (it’s just this one girl; rest of the staff is very good) told me that “it would have been left here”… no sorry, no calls upon noticing the packet, nothing but her rude comment (which was not the first time this evening).
This is the staff who has argued with me on a couple of occasions before. It was not her first time.
I tried obtaining the manager’s number to register a complaint on both the service and her behavior, and was told that there is no fixed time when he comes in.
I am done. Never going back. I would rather take my business to some other place where I am treated better and am given a better service for...
