I came here with a small group of friends on a Saturday evening. It was not too busy at the time of our visit, but the restaurant was pretty big to accommodate! Their menu has a wide variety of good tasting Vietnamese food to select from. There is also a good amount of parking available at this location so it's a great option to get a quick meal.
I ordered the Grilled Pork Balls, Minced Shrimp on Sugar Cane & Spring Roll (615) which includes Rice Paper, Salad and Vermicelli. It was my first time trying out their rice paper rolls and I found it quite an interesting experience. Their grilled pork balls, minced shrimp and spring roll was sensational. This dish is meant to be served for more than one person so it is a great option if you want to share with other individuals.
My other friend ordered the Special RuaVangās Beef Rice Noodle Soup (100). She had mentioned that it was pretty good. I also decided to try out their Jackfruit Shake (851) and it had a unique tropical flavour, almost a hybrid of pineapple, banana and mango. You can tell that they had used a ripe jackfruit due to its bright yellow appearance. This shake is fire š„and I definitely would recommend giving this shake a try.
Overall, their portion sizes are quite big which is on par with other Vietnamese restaurants. Their staff were friendly and the service is fast. I should also mention that their washrooms were very clean and maintained. I would definitely come back to try out their other dishes on...
Read morePho Rua Vang has been our family favorite Pho since 80s, from St Clair Toronto, to old place in central parkway & confederation in Mississauga to new place in Mags,,, eventhough it goes thru a few owners... But no complaint... because we always have pho and that is what Vietnamese restaurant good for. I gave 4.5 to 5 star on Pho. But today, our family stop by... for Pho... my wife spot Mi Quang... on the menu... this is one of our favorite dish.. difficult to make it good and not many restaurant offer it. But my wife go for it, order one. When the " Hi quan come" nothing is right, the colour is not yellowish, the noodle is "pho" not Mi, the sauce Is more Thailand base than vietnam... it is garage. It totally insult the famous name Mi Quang... When pay , at the cashier...iask if he is the new owner, the answe is yet. I gave the feedback... this is not mi Quang.. he said this is how they serve... means Don't like it, get lost. I think the new owner, and the chef... do not know how Mi Quang look like, should be... Or they do not gave a damn. The menu says mì quảng .. but the bowl come with all PHO ingridients. Never eat anything else in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed. Ordered the shrimps and pork papaya salad (goi tom thit) and so so so really disappointed. Shirmps are the kind of frozen tiny shrimps, pork was the cold char siu (xa xiu) meat, with stain of frozen lard (ugh!). FYI it's supposed to be fresh boiled shirmps and thin slides of boiled pork, not any type of seasoned pork and especially not char siu which is totally a different dish. Papaya was not well marinated. Overall I could not even touch my chopsticks after 2 bites.
Pho was ok, nothing special or bad. Fried spring rolls are very odd. Like I have never seen or tasted something like that in Vietnam. I do not dare to call it not authentic as maybe it's the restaurant's special dish, or maybe it comes from some rural area in Vietnam, or from a long past before I was born. But for other Viet folks that just came here or people who had spring rolls in Vietnam recently and wish to find the same taste, then expect to find something very different.
A lot of people complimented the portion here. I guess the portion is great. My friend had the beef with rice and I found it okay though quite sweet...
