Used to go to rahat bakery , to get the taste of pakistan .. in the start it was living to its hype .. but my repeated visits to buy almond cake, chicken pattiese , their Samosa , their beef kachories, and pineapple pastries ended . As their standard dropped massively . Their pastries were stale couple of time for me . Chicken pattiese looked beautiful , nicely raised but hd hardly any chicken in it . Though their almond cake lived up to its standard . I never wrote a review as for me it was a Pakistani brand and I by all means wanted to support it . I didn’t wanted to write a bad review .but , at my end I stopped going . Today I happened to be in the area and looking at it I wanted to get the pineapple pastry for my toddler . I did mentioned my previous disappointments to the lady at the counter . I was assured the pastries were fresh n just came in . I took three . The minute I tried them sitting right outside in my car . It was same .. stale pastry with fresh cream. I went in and expressed my concern …. NOW THE GUY WHO CAME FROM INSIDE THE KITCHEN is my reason to write the review … he was the most ill-mannered person to be dealing . He kept chanting ,”app ko paisaay chahyee, in ko paisay doh! “!! “She wants the money , give her the money !!!! Seriously is that how you deal with the customer who is paying those steep prices yet you are giving them below standard stuff!! I mentioned that with such attitude of urs , where you are literally humiliating your customer I would not want to come , to which he openly replied DONT COME!!!! Rather fixing your fault , you have the audacity to scream and misbehave !!!!!! I didn’t bothered taking the money back, as to me it wasn’t about the money .. it was more about the issue to solve it . He could hve replaced my pastries with fresh one s… or could have just admitted !!! But he went on n on . I left the pastries and my money to him! I certainly am not going .. but based on such experiences people would also stop coming to ! The attitude will be the reason to...
Read moreAuthentic Pakistani bakery that is a little pricey for the quality of items you get. Don't get me wrong, everything I got tasted very good but there are a few things I didn't like about this place:
Customer Service. I came for the almond cake originally and the cashier told me it's not available. So I said not a problem. She could tell I'm not Pakistani since I didn't respond in urdu when she spoke. However, as I can catch on some phrases, when another customer came in and asked for the same thing, I saw how she first said they're sold out. Then, the other worker said they had one reserved for a person who had reserved but never picked up. Thus, the cashier went and sold it to that customer. I found it very unprofessional because I personally felt that they sold it to them first since they were Pakistani but I wasn't. Second, I was standing there waiting for my order I had placed, thus she knew I had requested it before. Anyhow, I didn't like that at all and found it quite rude. Staff aren't welcoming. They don't greet you with a smile, nothing. Just place your order, wait, take it and go.
Availability of items. There wasn't much options to choose from when I went. Only limited items left to order and was told to come back another time.
Small bakery. Not much space inside for movement. It can get crowded and feel tight as people come in and out. There's no seating area as it's more of a takeout.
The food we got was good, though a little spicy for the savouries. Might consider giving it a second shot but it definitely won't be my go-to place or a place I'd...
Read moreToday we bought samosas for guests but they were not cooked properly, we’re about 15 minutes away and we can’t come all the way back to change them especially because no one will be eating these now👎🏻 Called the bakery/restaurant whatever you may call it and the employee who picked up the phone was EXTREMELY rude. She told my father to bring back the samosas to which he told her he can’t come now but can keep them and bring them in tomorrow. She also told him how they (Rahat Since 1950) have never gotten any bad reviews from anyone else and that this is their first complaint. Well haha looking at reviews on here a 3.8 out of 5 means that there probably were some mess ups and I find it incredibly stupid the way the person spoke over the phone. She told us that we can talk to the manager but the manager aint here so we can’t do that. Lol. My father who is an aged man asked her respectfully to provide the name of herself and the manager so when he brings back the samosas in who should he mention that he spoke with but she started saying “oh why should I tell you my name”. Honestly if you’re trying to run a business at least hire RESPECTFUL people and not people who are full of themselves and don’t have the ability to take criticism because when you run a business there is good and bad and mistakes are bound to happen so instead of being RUDE you OR the employee OR manager could apologize POLITELY and then offer to take the food back and provide ACTUAL FRESH AND COOKED food. Disgusting behaviour for food...
