I had a mixed experience dining at the much-hyped Rick Good Eats in Mississauga last week. This restaurant specializes in fusion Indian cuisine, which sounded intriguing, but some dishes were more successful than others.
I started with their Masala Fries ($7.50), which were just okay. The fries themselves were regular fries without much masala flavor. Luckily, the tandoori aioli dipping sauce was excellent and enhanced the flavor.
The highlight of my meal was Rick's signature Fried Chicken Sandwich ($13.95), awarded best in Mississauga. The tender, spicy fried chicken lived up to its reputation. It was stuffed with flavor and the generous slathering of sauces and salsa added even more oomph. This sandwich was totally satisfying.
Unfortunately, the BBQ Chicken Bowl ($15.50) was a letdown, even though it was recommended. The rice was bland with no sauce and the BBQ chicken had some good flavours, it couldn't redeem the entire flavorless bowl. For a similar price, I've had much better tasting and filling bowls at Subway.
I also tried their in-house Lychee juice, which was absolutely delightful. It had amazing original flavors that were super addictive.
The total price for the 4 items was approx. $55, which felt too expensive given the experience. The overall bill should have been in the $30-35 range.
Overall, Rick Good Eats is worth trying for their novel fusion menu, but be selective with your order. Stick to winners like the fried chicken sandwich, tandoori aioli and lychee juice, but avoid the lackluster bowls and sides. This hyped restaurant was a mixed bag for me given the...

Their burgers or naanwich are good to start off if you haven't been here before. We also tried their daily special of their tandoori wings which tasted amazing!!
Really neat business idea to have the burgers with an Indian twist.
They had masala fries too which came with the wings. The fries reminded me of Costco fries!! I love Costco fries so obviously I loved the fries too. I don't think I can really taste the masala spice in the fries though unless masala is suppose to taste like nothing much? But I think if the fries had more flavor to it..it would be a bomb sellout. You can of course opt for their loaded fries too if you want to spice it up with butter chicken or shahi paneer.
We ordered the butter chicken macaroni and cheese as well. This came from their hot table meaning it's already pre made and ready to go if you are in a hurry. I really liked the flavor of the mac and cheese however I don't like the macaroni's consistency though. I thought it was a bit over cooked. I would assume so since it was sitting in the hot tray for a long time. It would be better if the mac was a better texture, that would taste great!
One thing to note here is that their portion sizes for the loaded fries and the hot table items are huge. They are very generous with their portions and the price isn't too expensive for the food here!
Last tip?
Try their freshly mixed mango pulp and yogurt with the meal! Won't be disappointed. Sit tight because there is a bit of a wait(~15 min) for that goooodness because it usually will take some time for them to...

During my recent visit, I indulged in their butter chicken Mac and cheese. The dish was incredibly rich and savory, with the perfect balance of creamy cheese and flavorful butter chicken. It was comfort food at its finest, with a delightful twist.
Next up were the chaat fries, which instantly transported me to the vibrant streets of India. These fries were seasoned to perfection, offering a tangy and spicy kick that reminded me of authentic street snacks. They were a perfect appetizer and a must-try for anyone who loves bold flavors.
The highlight of my meal was the fried chicken sandwich with tandoori bacon. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, complemented beautifully by the smoky and aromatic tandoori bacon. It’s a unique combination that worked amazingly well and left me craving more.
