I ordered 3 Festivity meal on Dec. 24 around 12 pm to be delivered by 3 pm. We had our other family set for Zoom call so we can have dinner together all via Zoom to keep the distance. THE FOOD WAS ONE HOUR LATE!!! I couldn't call the store because it was closed. I couldn't call the 1-800 number because it was saying our call center is closed! We were all ready for Christmas dinner and we had zero food! No text, no call, no e-mail from Swiss Chalet that the food might be late, never mind being late for an hour! It pretty much round the family dinner as we thought we are not even going to receive the dinners at that point. The other parties already finished their food and we actually stayed hungry. After calling the Winnipeg number - thinking they are an hour behind and they may be able to reach the Head Office. No luck there either. - I gave up on receiving the food and I tried to frantically figure out what we can eat as I broke both of my legs three weeks ago and I had very limited mobility. That was the first reason why we ordered the food and that was the reason why we organized it to be on the 24 because all Swiss Chalet is closed on the 25th. So I was panicking majorly. Never mind that we couldn't have dinner with the rest of the family but we were going to have no dinner at all! Finally, the food showed up just before 4 pm. Both of the rib sauce was all over dumped on the buns. Probably from the rush the tiny containers were not closed properly and went out all over inside the tray. Cranberry sauce was opened as well, but that one is pretty solid so luckily it stayed in its container more or less. The chicken and the fries were great as usual, no complaints there. If I order ever again from Swiss Chalet it will not be from this location for sure. I ordered ahead for a reason and it was definitely was not meet our expectations. I gave the review a 3 star because we always love Swiss Chalet chicken. But the delivery from this location is 1 star.
Update: The location followed up with me and apologized for the inconvenience, however we can't change the past but only move forward. They offered me a $50 credit towards...
Read moreThis location is one that we have been frequenting for decades (we followed the restarurant when it moved from a strip plaza at the same intersection). We attended on Friday April 22nd for an anniversary dinner for my parents and the manager asked young hostess to inform us that we could not bring in the cake that I was carrying in my hands due to "covid". This was shocking, especially since we had just celebrated a birthday party on February 15th with our own birthday cake. I brought my cake back to my vehicle and then proceeded to call Head Office, who were completely useless and told me that I needed to speak to the restaurant owner. I asked the manager for the owner's name and contact information and was given her business card only to find out a few minutes later that the owner was there at the restaurant. I eventually spoke to her and explained how incredibly disappointed I was. I also told her that the manager of this location is rude, unprofessional and has absolutely zero skills to be working in the service industry. The manager told me that I was in fact "allowed" to bring in my cake, as long as I kept it at my table, rather than in their fridge. Clearly the information that the manager gave us was incorrect and I feel that my family was being "picked on" and quite frankly, descriminated against. If it hadn't been my parents' anniversary, we would have left and gone to another restaurant. However, our party of 13 people stayed and paid over $200 for our meals, even after being mistreated. And for the record, we called other Swiss Chalet locations and they have no problem with patrons brining a cake AND keeping it in their fridge as well. I suppose after 25+ years, we will no longer be frequenting this Swiss...
Read moreI sent this message to customer service. They said someone would investigate store level. After I following up several times there has been no contact. I was always very professional in my messages. Clearly does not care about customers. Will not be eating at Swiss Chalet again.
I’m writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at 1455 Dundas location. I ordered a Family Pack meal, and upon returning home, I discovered that the sauce was missing from the order. As you know, the Chalet Sauce is a signature part of the meal and a key reason many people, including myself, choose Swiss Chalet. Without it, the meal lacks the flavour and satisfaction one expects—and frankly, it’s just not the same. We called the store to address the issue, and while the manager on duty offered a $5 credit, the response felt dismissive. He didn’t seem to fully understand the impact this had on our experience. This wasn’t a minor oversight—it fundamentally affected the enjoyment of the meal we paid for. When a customer orders a complete meal, it’s reasonable to expect all included items to be there. Mistakes happen, but how they’re handled makes all the difference. I believe Swiss Chalet should take greater care in ensuring orders are complete and that staff show more understanding when a clear service failure has occurred. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously. I’ve always appreciated your food and service, but this experience fell short of the standard I’ve...
