Thanima Kerala Kitchen offers authentic and delicious Kerala cuisine, and I have to say, the food is truly the highlight of this place. The flavors are rich, and the dishes are consistently well-prepared, making it a go-to spot for anyone craving Kerala delicacies in Mississauga.
However, the overall experience is often marred by poor service. On multiple occasions, I’ve faced issues with the attendants, which makes dining or ordering takeout less enjoyable. Here are some of the key issues:
Service Delays: Even when I call in advance—sometimes 30 minutes or more—to have my food ready for pickup, it’s rarely prepared on time. On arrival, I’m often told to wait an additional 10-15 minutes, which defeats the purpose of pre-ordering.
Packing Errors: There have been instances where items I ordered and paid for were missing from my takeout. This carelessness causes unnecessary frustration, especially when you only realize it after getting home.
Overcharging Practices: The attendants seem to lack transparency and attention to detail. Despite visible promotions advertised on their chalkboard, these discounts are not automatically applied to the bill. You have to explicitly ask for the discounted price. I’ve personally been overcharged two or three times because I wasn’t aware of the promotion at the time. They deny it after you realize that there is a promotion.
Order Mix-Ups: On some occasions, I’ve been handed the wrong order, which shows a lack of organization and professionalism among the staff.
Lack of Professionalism: The overall attitude and service from the attendants leave much to be desired. It feels as though there’s a lack of proper training and attention to detail in handling orders, payments, and customer interactions.
In summary, while Thanima Kerala Kitchen excels in serving outstanding Kerala cuisine, the service aspect is disappointing and needs serious improvement. The delays, overcharging, and errors make it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. If they address these service issues, this restaurant has the potential to be one of the best places for Kerala food in...

Don’t be fooled by this restaurant’s rating! The service here is beyond awful—you’ll only end up frustrated and regretting your visit.
My husband and I arrived for breakfast around 9:20 AM to find the restaurant completely empty. Despite this, we had to wait five minutes just to get someone’s attention and confirm that they were actually open.
By 9:29 AM, we placed our order: masala dosa, chicken curry (which was already pre-made and sitting in the display), and palappam. The cashier assured us the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes—a reasonable wait, or so we thought.
After patiently waiting 20 minutes, I asked for an update, only to see that we were still the only customers, while two staff members in the kitchen leisurely chatted and walked around. The cashier told us to wait another five minutes. We did. Still, no food.
At this point, I was beyond frustrated. How does a restaurant that has been open for over 1.5 hours, with three staff members and only two customers, fail to serve a simple order on time?
After another five-minute delay, I demanded to cancel our order. Instead of apologizing, the cashier replied, “Just five more minutes, and it will be ready for sure.” Seriously? Thirty minutes to serve two people in an empty restaurant?
To top off this already terrible experience, the food was mediocre at best—except for the chicken curry, which was ready from the start and could have been served immediately. Yet, the staff never bothered to inform us about an extended wait time for the other dishes.
It’s now painfully obvious why we were the only ones there—this place has zero respect for customers’ time. No one wants to eat at a restaurant where indifference and inefficiency are the norm.
Do better. Or don’t, because honestly, I doubt anyone will give you a...

We had a birthday party and ordered a biriyani tray from them. We told them that its for a birthday and they told us that it will be fresh. Upon picking up the food we noticed that the tray was not at all hot. When we asked the guy told us that its fresh and good . We were in a hurry and didn't ask again as why the tray is not even hot. So we picked up the Tray at 9pm and we served the Biriyani at 12 after cake cutting, the food started to smell bad. Got friends and family that came to the function from distance and was embarrassed by this. We usually keep the leftovers to the next day but we have to throw it out . We called the reception next day to report we told her that we are not looking for any refound but it was just to inform about the matter, the lady who answered listened to the complaint and told that someone will contact us shortly to discuss further. But no one answered. We called today to reserve another tray and then when we told about the last experience. They said they can guarantee only 2 hours and was kindof unprofessional.
