Date of Visit: Sat, May 11, 2024 Almond croissant, Blueberry cheesecake danish, butter tart.
On a quick day trip to Almonte - we stopped into Baker Bob’s in the downtown core. The store is part bakery, part market, part cafe, & Part gift shop. They have all kinds of items to choose from, including pantry items like jams, jellies, preserves, condiments, etc. Their bakery is stocked with a wide array of items like cinnamon buns, danishes, tarts, cookies, breads, squares, and much more. When we arrived, the display had limited options, but they still had a number of good choices for us. We are passionate about Almont croissants so we snagged one, as well as apple crumb tart, and a blueberry cheesecake danish. They had one lonely Butter Tart, so we grabbed it as well to try for our #buttertartquest.
It was a rainy day in Almonte - and unfortunately, our treats were placed in a paper bag, which barely survived the walk back to the car. A lot of the appearance of the items suffered as a result.
The flavours were still present even if the appearance changed.

Now it's possible I was misheard, but either way, I was given the Nanaimo bar. Upon further inspection at home I called the store to clarify because there was something that really looked nutty and was informed that their Nanaimo bars are made with walnuts. This could have made for a really bad start to Christmas had I not trusted my instinct and inquired further.
I had a cinnamon roll which was 5 stars. But the attention to an allergen, when directly inquired about it, was 1 star. I highly recommend for delicious baked goods but if you have allergies or sensitivities, I'd consider staying away. I'm not sure if I personally will...
Read moreReally disappointed... Drove from white lake cause I heard how good this bakery is meant to be. Walked in, rang the bell and waited for service.... No one on the main sales floor but I could hear people in the back. Waited some more after ringing the bell. Then I made eye contact with someone in the back, said hi to them and they just kept working. didn't even acknowledge me. Spent 10-15 minutes just waiting for help before walking out without buying anything... would have liked to try their baked goods but I'm interested in...
