Went here with my family this Saturday. The waitress was pleasant, but the food was not. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and french fries. I feel like we paid for french fries with a side order of a sandwich. It was tiny! And the “cheese” was actually the processed fake cheese slices from Kraft that you can find in a grocery store. Not a good substitute for a restaurant to use. The fries were alright though. I should also add the we all had ice tea and it was very watery. My brothers meal was macaroni and cheese with garlic bread. They gave him a small (and I mean small) bowl of what tasted like kraft dinner. And the garlic bread tasted like pre made, frozen, stick it in the oven for ten minutes and call it garlic bread. My mother had their homemade lasagna. When I asked if she liked it, she said it was “edible.” That’s not a great rating coming from someone who cooks everyday and makes fantastic meals. My sister had the cheese pizza. It was also pre made, frozen, stick it in the oven for ten minutes and call it a pizza. On a the plus side, my dad ordered the club house sandwich and enjoyed it. And the restaurant was fairly clean. To sum it all up, yes, the food was edible. Yes the waitress was fine. Yes the restaurant was clean. Would I recommend going to Jean’s? No. The portion sizes were totally off. And they used cheap substitutes for food that they overpriced and called “home...
Read moreMan, not a good experience. So not satisfied with the amount of money i spent. Let me explain the saving graces and then the bad stuff.
The staff service is good. They're attentive and nice. Atmosphere is alright, nothing bad, but nothing quiet, but it's alright.
I ordered a coffee, and the seafood lovers platter.
Do NOT get the Seafood lovers platter. What a huge waste of money.
Coffee was nice and the unlimited refils was nice too!
The Seafood lovers platter on the menu, LOOKS just nearly worth the high price. And when it arrives, it's so, incredibly, INFURIATING to watch it in real life.
Misleading portion sizing on the menu. HALF of what is on the menu, is what you get in real life. I couldn't believe it, literally HALF.
And then the taste wasn't great either. It was cold, dead with no soul, no real portion sizing for it's huge price tag, the taste for the money i paid for it isn't upto par.
The Rice pilaf you get the option to get was good in taste, but had about 5 small pieces of veggies at max. It felt like we were in the apocalypse already and no veggies grow in our world.
I as a customer felt cheated that i paid full price for the platter, only to get half of what was on the menu. It doesnt feel great to write a bad review, but it sure as heck doesn't feel good to be grossly mislead into buying something different than what it looks on the...
Read moreThe staff was super friendly, and the place was clean. The food, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. It was my birthday and the waitress did wish me a happy birthday when we paid our bill.
I ordered the Mac & Cheese burger. It came undressed, which is okay - there was ketchup at the table. The mac and cheese was fried, as you would expect, but imagine my surprise when I took a bite and it was KD on the inside. Without curves the noodles just went everywhere, spilling out with every bite. The burger felt like it had never heard of salt.
Finally, let's talk about the gravy. When you order a burger with fries and get a side of gravy, you typically expect beef. Occasionally you'll get chicken, and if it's good chicken it's okay. But never turkey, right? RIGHT? Wrong. They served a burger and fries with turkey gravy. The same gravy was served with my wife's seafood and fries. Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty decent turkey gravy. I believe it was made with real turkey drippings. It just wasn't the right gravy.
With all that being said, I was always told that you should end bad news on something nice. Before I left I took a moment to relieve myself. Colour me surprised, but the bathroom was the nicest thing...
