So I’ve just moved from Ontario to New Brunswick and I had asked the realtor where is the best place for Seafood. He told me Skipper Jacks is where most locals go. My father had come with me on the trip here and he loves good seafood. So of course I knew where I was going to take him. #1 If it’s busy, wait, and wait some more. It is worth it! #2 You’re going to love it. #3 I haven’t eaten fish or any meat in almost 5 years. However I figured I’m in the Maritimes now… well I can’t d ok anything but try and tell you how amazing the food was and how happy I was I picked Skipper Jacks to begin having fish again. Nova Scotia Halibut to be exact. However I just need you all to know, this is the best seafood I’ve ever had. (And no it wasn’t just because well now I’m eating it again) The freshness is real and makes the difference, the Tartar sauce made in house and the coleslaw that I had heard about in the reviews. Well it exceeded any expectations. I know, coleslaw why focus on such a small part? Well because it truly was incredible. So from now on when I want the best this is where I’ll be going to eat in or take out. I should also mention the white haired Gentleman who from other reviewers comments may be Bob? Well he greeted us and assured us that we’d get a table soon and made sure we were well looked after. Our servers were also amazing. Can I say amazing and perfect and delicious and wow more then once in a single review?? I will be coming back again and again and bringing every family member and friend that comes to visit here. Truly of your craving great seafood and want to know it’s fresh and local this is where you need to visit. I had the Nova Scotia Halibut and my dad had the Lobster Roll and loved it too! Pics included.

Having lived in this town for a couple years now, we consider this fine restaurant our go to place for deliciously fresh and well prepared seafood. Everytime, both my wife and I have enjoyed our meals. Excellent service and extremely tasty meals. Never been disappointed. Cutting into my fish I could see it was pure white and very flakey, as it should be. No over powering "fishy" taste to it. Nor was it overly oily. Fully pleased with both our meals. We will definately both be back to enjoy another meal in future. During times of COVID, the protocols were being used here and we both appreciated their thoughtfulness. Happy to be out of the pandemic. We've brought loved ones here who have all enjoyed their prepared meals as well. Since this restaurant has been increased in size, we're even more likely to find a seat. An additional room added on the side makes it convenient for picking out fresh seafood to go. My only disappointment is that one cannot climb up into their new lookout tower. It's for looks only. We also noticed the lovely paintings on their walls. Each one that is for sale has been marked with pricing, so no need to be surprised if one's interested in buying. Lovely time at this restaurant, every visit we've had. Staff personnel is top notch and we've always been handled with high regards. Well worth coming back.

I was in New Brunswick for work and the guy I was doing works for said this place had the best seafood anywhere around. So that's where I went. It did not disappoint! It's a nice locally owned place. Clean and friendly with a casual atmosphere. The prices were reasonable and the portions large. Service was on point and they were willing to talk to me which is a big plus when you're on the road alone as much as I am. They were very welcoming. I have had a lot of really stellar seafood when work takes me close enough to the shore to get it. This place ranks at or near the top of that list. The chowder was the best I ever remember eating. Perfectly creamy and the seafood was impeccable. With the exception of the shrimp, everything else was locally sourced and as fresh as any I have ever had. The clams were also remarkable. The menu says they are "award winning". I can see why! Perfect breading. Whole clams! To die for! And if you like PEI mussels? Imagine what they would be like when they came fresh out of the water the same day you ate them and from only a handful of miles from where you're sitting to eat them! By far the mildest, freshest and most tender mussels I ever ate. Of you are ever within a 2 hour drive of this place .... GOOOOOO! Its that good.

I usually give most places high ratings, but I am still stunned at what I witnessed tonight.

While the food was good and the server was polite to me, the table near us experienced something entirely different.

They ordered before us. We received our food almost right away, but they still didn't have their food by the time we were nearly done, which took almost an hour.

They mentioned that there was something wrong with shrimp and asked for it to be taken back or a refund because they couldn't eat it. They also mentioned that they had waited an hour after being seated for service and were pretty hungry.

The staff started to scold them, then implied their service was late because their children were loud (i didn't even hear their kids as they played with their toys at the table, but the restaurant was so loud with adults talking my family had to yell to be heard.) The father asked for the owner. or manager and told them not to bring their children into it, and the manager came and only escalated the situation by accusing them of making the server cry. The server pointedly said he did not make her cry, and the manager glared at her when she said that.

Then the manager told them to pay and leave or she was calling the police. The father said he intended to pay he was just asking if they could remove the shrimp from the meal.

After that i didn't hear much more as the rest of the family went outside to get away from the angry staff and the father paid the bill, assured the server he wasn't upset with her, (i didnt hear what the server said. The place was pretty loud, but the manager was louder) and left while the manager and( what i assume was) senior staff stood there glaring at him.

I am still appalled at the manager angerly saying "are you going to pay the bill or not" while the family looked confused and threatened to call the police before they could even give an answer. I just cannot stop thinking about that.

I don't know if i feel comfortable returning to that place, especially if i want to bring my child, after that incident. The whole situation was very poorly handled by the manager and the senior staff. I get the feeling that that place does not want...

Our visit that day, which was my second time dining at the restaurant and the first since they renovated, was OK. The service was good, the wait time was reasonable for a Friday, the atmosphere was really nice as well as the dishes' presentation. Although, when it came to the food itself my partner and I weren't really impressed. Both our poutine and coslaw were good but we found that our main items, burger and lobster roll, were bland and did'nt really impress us.

With that said, I would of still giving this nice restaurant a 4 stars review but had a slightly unpleasant experience with my lobster roll. On the menu it advertised that it included "house mayo", which mine didn't have any in it. Both my partner and I made sure to look really closely before we mentioned it to the server. We basically took it apart, looking on the bun, lobster and lettuce to confirm there was indeed no mayo in it. We even found a piece of cucumber hanging out in the lettuce? But no mayo. When we were confident the mayo was missing we told the server, which took it to the kitchen and came right back with a new one (it was almost instant - kudos for that). Then the server told us what the kitchen said, that there was mayo in the other roll just a little. After spending a few minutes taking the original roll apart and not seeing any mayo, that comment made me feel like they were telling me that I was a liar. Simply forgetting the mayo is a human error, which I would of brushed off and not think about it again, but coming back saying there was some in it but just a little, that one I will...
