My partner who grew up in Montague laments the time when Famous Peppers opened here. He said the pizza was fantastic, and the service great. Fast forward to today, I just called the operation after hours to leave a message about our order, however the voicemail for the Montague location is full. Hate to say it but after a couple of encounters with this operator I'm not surprised. I've been living in Montague for 3 years now and have been giving Famous Peppers Pizza multiple chances since I arrived. The first number of times I ordered from famous peppers my complaints were minor so I kept them to myself (the pizzas are always warm to cold when ordered for pick up, even though they usually give a time stamp for pick up often in my experience giving a half hour regardless if time of day). Two times of late I've ordered and have had the distinct displeasure of dealing directly with the owner on the phone. The first time he began our phone conversation with telling me he was unsure if he could fill my order because his employee didn't show up for their shift (he used her name as well, I don't need to know about your employees work history, I just want a pizza), He also didn't know of he could make the pizza himself, I'm not sure if this was based on bodies in the store to assist or He didn't know the menu, regardless sir, too much information. He sounded exasperated and annoyed with my call so I told him I'd call back in a half hour to check to see if it's ok to order. When I called back the owner scolded me for taking so long to call and asked if I was going to be there soon because my pizza was ready and sitting there. While I initially was going to say that I didn't confirm an order with him I decided since it was already a stressful day for him I'd just head down and pay for the pizza. After getting back home I opened the box and confirmed my suspicion.... stone cold..... The second encounter was less tedious but none the less rude and abrupt phone etiquette. Tonight I gave it another try and called them at 830, not once, not twice, but 6 times before my call was answered 15 minutes later. A polite, calm gentleman answered the call and took my order and said it would probably be 20 to 25 minutes. We ordered the Roasted Red Pepper Pizza and added bacon and beef. When we recieved the pizza it was only warm, making it completely cold by the time we got home (a 5+ minute drive to our house). And they only added the bacon and beef to ONE side of the pizza. And so to circle back to the beginning of this review, I called to leave a message and complain but instead was inspired to write this review after realizing the voicemail for the...
Read moreThis place used to be the only good spot in Montague for pizza, now not so much. The last three times my family and I have gotten pizza from there it had been over cooked with less toppings to boot. The quality in pride the cooks once heard is now gone, they obviously donât care anymore and are just trying to push food through the door. Itâs an absolute shame because there is no longer any good spot to get a decent pizza in Montague. Save your money and just make one at home itâs just not worth it. Breaks my heart to say it after being a loyal customer for better part of 10 years and that is the only reason youâre getting two stars...
Read morePizza, garlic fingers, BBQ, wings, beer, cider and seltzers. Famous Peppers does it all. Great food! Great service! Great drinks. They even have music, ice cream (in season) and seafood.
Situated in the friendly community of Montague (they have a place in Charlottetown too) on the harbor.
A variety of BBQ sauces and tender and brisket smoked on the premises top my favorites list. And their new partnership with Island hot sauces stars, Maritime Madness, adds a new level 8 of fire to their flavor arsenal. Itâs made just for Famous Peppers.
They are celebrating their 20th anniversary this week. Drop by and wish...
