First off I will advise you all not to order from this place because it is hands down the worst Indian food experience I’ve had in Montreal. I ordered last night through Uber eats and I ordered the mahal special which includes tandoori chicken, chicken tikka and sikh kebab. The tandoori chicken was so dry it was absolutely unenjoyable. The naan was also extremely dry and possible the worst naan I’ve ever had, store bought is less dry than that. The rice was terrible as well it just didn’t not seem like it had been freshly prepared. The Sikh kebab was alright but nothing I would recommend. The only decent thing was the chicken tikka was which had some nice pieces of chicken. The “salad” this dish came with was hardly a salad but mostly onion and green pepper and there was a whole baby carrot in there. Really a baby carrot at a restaurant? The idea of that to me is just so uninspired that it was actually unappetizing. Honestly I’m floored with how little effort was made in preparing this dish considering the way restaurants are struggling during this pandemic. You would think they would put all their effort in to putting out exceptional food. My only advice would be to avoid this place they clearly don’t care about the low quality food they put out to their customers and considering the prices there are soooo many better Indian options...

This place definitely changed owner/management. Now it sucks. From the rudest attitude of the woman with glasses serving, to the food and the lack of taste. We used to eat here every week because it was delicious and the workers were so nice. They even knew what we liked. Now, all of that has disappeared. Instead, we have a rude woman who served whatever she wanted without asking. And she got so annoyed when I refused to take what she dumped on our plates. No tamarind sauce. No taste and just dry chicken. If you want to lose customers, you are in the right direction.
Deeply disappointed.

I just ate there and is delicious. At first glance I thought it was some fast food joint and I kept walking. But nothing convinced me over Sherbrooke west so I went back to the Bombay and wow! The chicken tandoori with spinach and other spicy green sauce was awesome. The naans were hot and buttery. The salad was fresh and help a bit with this spicy and delicious plate.
Definitely, I will return to try...
Read moreI wager I've tried upwards of 50 Indian restaurants and have dabbled in the kitchen with more than a few Indian recipes as well.
Bombay Mahal is one of the worst Indian restaurants I've ever tried. There was no paneer in the Palak Paneer, they gave us roti instead of naan which was dreadful and the chicken in the chicken curry was dry whilst the consistency of the curry resembled more of a broth or soup.
The pictures of the dishes on Uber Eats differed drastically to what we received.
I called the restaurant and spoke to the owner and she gave me some song and dance about recipes being different at different restaurants. She said the paneer was shredded and the naan was "unique" (it was in fact roti). I challenge anyone to find me a curry recipe where the paneer is shredded opposed to being cubed.
I'm always reticent to leave a negative review on Google Reviews and haven't left many, but this experience definitely warranted negative feedback.
Avoid this place...
