I recently had the pleasure of visiting grill gate, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. For a fast food restaurant, the quality, service, and overall experience were exceptional.

First, let’s talk about the food. It’s rare to find fast food that’s both quick and delicious, but grill gate nailed it. The menu offers a great variety of options—from classic burgers to healthier choices like salads and grilled chicken sandwiches. I ordered the space ship and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and flavorful it was. The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with toppings that tasted fresh. Even the fries were crisp and seasoned just right, without being overly greasy. You can tell they take care in preparing their food, which sets them apart from many other fast food places.

The service was also worth mentioning. The staff was friendly and efficient, ensuring that my order was correct and that I didn’t have to wait long despite it being a busy time of day. The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, which made the dining experience that much better.

Lastly, the value for money was excellent. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. They also offer combo deals that give you even more bang for your buck.

Ladies and gentlemen, they say a picture is worth a thousand words—so let me save you from reading an entire novel. Because I was this close to writing one.

What I received was the saddest excuse for a filet steak I’ve ever laid eyes on. If disappointment had a face, it would be this plate. Look at my photos to understand what they show you for online ordering to what actually shows up—unless you enjoy the thrill of being catfished by lettuce.

I use the term filet (or faux-filet as they advertise) loosely because what I got was more like tasteless overcooked brown rubber. If you’re going to call it “filet,” at least try Photoshopping it with a bit more confidence.

All this for $25. What a ripoff.

My family suggested I march back and ask for a refund. I decided we’d be better off pretending this place never existed. As someone who runs a food business, I care deeply about quality. If the owner believes this plate is acceptable at that price point, I sincerely wish every future customer the best of luck—and maybe a backup meal. First of all, this was the best food I’ve ever had in a restaurant in Canada, I’ve been to fancy restaurants and they couldn’t compare in tatse, quality and price. Presentation of the sandwiches was on point and it’s Halal as well which I was very pleased with. (I got the philly steak sandwich 11/10) I was not expecting to eat this well when I came to this place. The last time I ate something this good was 2 years ago in Istanbul Turkey. 100% recommend coming here, I spoke with the chef and she was very humble and adorable. The waitress was also very polite and efficient, she was very good in all honesty. The ambiance of the store is nice and it’s affordable for what you get, very generous and filling portions when it comes to the sandwiches at least (I haven’t tried any of the other items on the menu) but I saw another lady get the pizza and it was quite big and looked very delicious.
