I’m normally not a big fan of eating sandwiches when I eat out, preferring to eat at restaurants with more “interesting” cuisines. However, my daughter wanted to eat At Café Americano, and when I saw the sandwiches people were eating, I said OK! What a sandwich! I am still thinking about it! We shared the large Caprese, savouring the mozzarella, pesto, and tomato. Delicious! We could have stopped there, but we also shared a delicious mushroom arancini. The mushroom flavour shone. We asked for the tomato sauce on the side, but they put it on top and if you are ordering it, I would suggest you ask for it on the side (to fully appreciate the mushroom element). Unfortunately, we were too full to order a dessert, but the display of desserts was tempting- the key lime pie caught my eye. Service was good. The person who took our order shared that it is a family run business which is nice. The café is large and sunny with cheerful floral displays...

Visited twice. Busy place but service is efficient and friendly. We did not have to wait long for our orders.

3* for the coffee drinks. From our visits, our orders were inconsistent. The mocha we ordered tasted different each time. The second time around, the drink was way too sweet, comparable to a hot chocolate. We did not appreciate it. We were served a better beverage the first time, with a better ratio of coffee to chocolate.

The sandwiches are generously portioned. The ciabattas are fresh and substantial. We had the Chicken Parm and the Cold Cuts sandwiches. If you are used to visiting other similar Italian sandwich spots around the city, you may find that Café Americano's lacked on flavor. Sandwiches could have used more condiments or spices, in our opinion.
