Cafe Felice — Restaurant in Montreal

BE CAREFUL, THE OWNER IS VERY AGGRESSIVE!!! The owner is very aggressive, discriminatory, and extremely disrespectful! I never write reviews, but I want people to beware of this coffee place and its owner. I went in for a coffee and to eat something while I worked on my computer. The place took orders at the counter, so I joined the line to order my drink and food. There were a lot of people ahead of me in line, and I had an online meeting scheduled soon. Therefore, I asked the staff for the Wi-Fi and started setting up my computer while waiting for the line to clear up a little bit. I then returned to the line, but people were still ordering. I had to go back to my computer to take my call as it was about to start. Later, the owner jumped into the middle of the video call, yelling that he would be waiting beside me until I ordered something. I paused the meeting to explain that I was on a call but that I would buy something as soon as my call ended. He stayed there until I finished the call! After I finished the call (which didn't take more than 10 minutes), I tried to explain that I did try to buy a coffee and something to eat before my call, but he wouldn't listen. Instead, he YELLED at me and said, "PhD students shouldn't come here!" In an extremely AGGRESSIVE way, he told me not to come back.... Clearly, I will never come back to this place. SCARY! STAY AWAY...

The cafe was okayish overall.

What I liked :- very nice staff. The guy who gave me the coffee was well behaved and in general the staff was very friendly to everyone around. They had two TVs inside so a good place to watch a game with friends.

What I didn't like :- I ordered a coffee for 3.5 and they asked me for CASH! This was super unexpected. They had an ATM machine which charged me 2.75 dollars for withdrawal. The person who served me was kind enough to say that I can enjoy my coffee and then find an ATM nearby and pay later but it was raining heavily and the nearest ATM is also not so near.

I had a terrible experience at this café. I stepped in while they were closing to get coffee to go. I was in a hurry to get going, little did I know they only take cash, but there was an atm machine that will charge ~half of the coffee’s price (they only told me when he finished making the coffee, and I didn’t want to be rude and leave it behind). He suggested I pay another day, but I am rarely in the area. So my friend suggested to get money from the car. Frustrated, I sat down to wait to pay.
