Café Fernanda is a true gem in the heart of Montréal, offering an authentically Portuguese café experience right in the Mile End.

Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a cozy, inviting atmosphere and a staff that radiates warmth and charm, making every visit feel like a homecoming.

What truly sets Café Fernanda apart is its incredible selection of Portuguese pastries, especially the renowned pasteis de nata.

The natas are celebrated for their delicate, flaky crust and creamy, perfectly sweetened custard center—qualities that rival even the best bakeries in Portugal.

Beyond the natas, you’ll find an impressive range of drinks—from bold cappuccinos to creamy matcha lattes—and other treats like oat cookies and scones that are equally delightful.

Whether you’re craving a sublime pastry, a comforting drink, or just a welcoming place to relax, Café Fernanda delivers on every level.

For the best pasteis de nata in Montreal—and an all-around outstanding café experience—this is the place to be. Highly...

I never write reviews, but I am leaving one for this cafe for the exceptional service! My daughter and I have visited a number of times. On one occasion we asked for a grilled cheese, but they just had run out of bread - they actually ran to a nearby bakery to get bread just to make us a grilled cheese! Another time, they told us we could wait a few minutes if we wanted a pastel de nata fresh out of the oven, instead of serving us one behind the glass. This cafe is easy to miss because of the tiny entryway, but I am always impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the beautiful lighting. We went back again today, and we were amazed when the owner walked over holding my daughter's stuffed animal that we must have left months ago! Not only did he remember who it belonged to, but he made my daughter's day by describing how he had fed her food and water, and kept her cozy while she waited. The grilled cheese is great, and so are the desserts and drinks! I love the matcha. We give this cafe...

Café Fernanda is a lovely new addition to the Mile End neighborhood, and it’s already becoming one of my favorite spots. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, cozy and inviting ambiance. The minimalist decor strikes a perfect balance—simple and uncluttered, yet full of warmth and thoughtful touches. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The coffee is just as impressive.

What truly sets Café Fernanda apart, though, is the hospitality. The host is welcoming and genuinely friendly, making you feel more like a guest in their home than a customer. It’s the kind of place where you'll want to linger....

Tried this place for the first time today and we loved it! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm decor with charming European/Portuguese touches. The owner provided us with great service, and was patient and kind while we took some time to decide what we wanted. I had a delicious nata straight from Portugal, and a perfectly balanced cortado made with smooth espresso. The music also deserves an honourable mention; he has great taste and it only added to the atmosphere. As soon as I was finished I was already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!

Pierre was warm and welcoming as it happened also to be a very quiet day. I love this little cafe. Very eclectic with touches of Portugal, Natas, imported sardines and Portuguese delicacies. Music is soft and current, old world oil paintings on the walls and interspersed with black and white photos of seaside villages in Portugal. I enjoyed my book, and a delectable hot London Fog tea. I would have stayed all day but had some doggies that needed me. Elena. The Mutt Mama

This café is seriously flying under the radar, and I can’t figure out why. It’s the kind of place you might walk past without noticing, just because there are so many options around. But once you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm welcome by the amazing staff! Their selection of coffees is great, and their pastries? Top notch. If you ever get the chance to visit, make sure to try their pasteis de nata, you won’t regret it! ⭐️
