This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a café: bad, slow service and burnt food. My experience: I had to ask the cashier for her attention because she was too busy texting. I had to wait for her to stop signing along to the music and clapping in order to place my order. I had to get her attention again when the card machine malfunctioned because she was texting again. I got my coffee first, which was full of coffee granules. They clearly hadn't cleaned their espresso machine in a long time. It was gross. A half hour went by before I got up to ask for an update on my meal, I was met with an eye roll and "yeah, it's coming". Context: the café was at maybe 35-40% capacity, not busy. At the 45 minute mark, I finally get my food. Looks kind of burnt, but I thought it's good enough, I was starving. I take a few bites, I flip over the crepe - it's completely burnt on the bottom (photos attached). This place was a complete disappointment, I would not...
Read moreWe brought folks from out of town to this lovely place for lunch and they absolutely loved it. Was hard to choose between sitting inside, where there was calm live music, and the patio outside which was perfectly shaded by trees and has fun wooden chairs and tables. At the end we went outside, where we tried the homemade watermelon juice (they were out of iced tea) and ate crepes, omelettes, and grilled cheese. The crepes in particular were delicious, and I was surprised at the large portions. The waiter who served was very kind. It's important to know that this is a very laid back place - that's part of its charm - so for example you shouldn't be surprised if they happened to have ran out of the soup of the day, or by the fact that you go up and place your order and they bring stuff to you as they make it without an enormous rush. Cash only.
All in all, terrific experience....
Read moreI visited Le Dépanneur Café several times during the fall months of 2024, and each visit was a delightful experience! One of the highlights was catching their live music performances during the day. The music added such a special touch—not only to my time at the café but to my entire day. It’s such a unique and enjoyable atmosphere that sets this place apart from your average café.
As for the food and drinks, I consistently ordered their latte and carrot cake, and I was never disappointed. The quality was excellent, and both paired perfectly with the cozy, artsy vibe of the place.
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Le Dépanneur Café offers a great experience that you won’t regret. It’s a gem that combines good coffee, tasty treats, and live music—what more could you ask for? Definitely...
