Carlos & Pepe's - Saint-Léonard — Restaurant in Montreal

We live in a simulation. Plants were fake, food was fake, culture was simulated.... it's all pretend. I'm sorry for anyone going hoping for something resembling mexican food (known for flavor). If you like franchise food, maybe you think this is good mexican food? But in 2023 i hope by now you've had decent mexican in Montreal by now.

Apps were OK actually, bar has a decent selection, but all the mains were so bland, layered w powdered seasonings, precut proteins, no cilantro (nothing fresh), corn tortillas were actually flour, rice was so, so bland, the pastor pineapple was so obviously a terrible grade from a can (the picture menu was yellow, the real thing was translucent grey and tasted like if you were eating them 2 yrs into a nuclear bunker stint..). I mean how can you do that and call yourself a restaurant. I couldn't finish em. Is the point to share foods, recipes or flavors you love, or to just serve anything in exchange for revenue? BC if so, you might as well be robots. And in a place that looks like it was a breakfast joint 3 weeks ago. Do it for love or do something else. What is the purpose of this? I don't even know why I'm writing this review because this restaurant won't even take the time to reply, LIKE OUR WAITRESS TONIGHT! You guys get one star only for the decor which is really nice. Waitress was really uninspired just like your menu. Inquired about your Tuesday taco special and was told only one type of taco can be selected which is really dumb when ordering a dozen tacos. Me and my wife had the shrimp tacos and steak tacos respectively. The shrimp tacos tasted funny but my wife didn't want to complain. She ate one.bite our of her whole plate. Portions were horrendously small for 30$! When the waitress came back she asked if we were done I said yes and told her my wife found the shrimps had a weird taste. To which she answered.. " Ah oui, est ce que vous voulez voir la carte de dessert!" Are YOU KIDDING ME??? No costume service whatsoever. By the way, just got home and she's throwing up in the bathroom. Went here yesterday for the 1st time with my daughter. The place is beautiful! Well decorated with a fun festive vibe. However I find the portions are really small for what you get. We went on " Taco Tuesday". I ordered the tacos ..which were super thin with only bit of meat, tomato sauce / salsa and coriander!. My daughter ordered a quesedilla but for some reason didn't arrive same time as the tacos..almost 20 minutes later! We asked the waitress what happened and she said there is a backup in the kitchen.. When we finally got it.. it was a small very thin quesedilla ..barely any filling..cut in 4 small triangles.. I thought $14 for that???

The food was tasty..just not enough! We both were still hungry after spending $64 (tax included) for 6 thin tacos, a measly quesedilla. an aqua fresca and a mango daiquiri..
