Top Quality. Haut quality!
Amazing food, and also as important : prepared by an amazing team. The owners really care about their food, products and you can see the passion they have as they create your meal from scratch.
If you are looking for frozen, preservative food : Go to Macdonalds because you will only get high quality FRESH food at L'Gourmand.
I've had the pizza - insanely good, with the kind of cheese that leaves NO GREASE sitting in a pool on top of your pizza once you get home and open the box. This place is up there with their Pizza, and I mean competitive with real authentic Italian resto pizza. This is not fast food.
Their Fries are some of the best I've had, well cooked and deliciously crunchy. They make Macdonalds fries seem like you are eating garbage - wait, its true they are fake / frozen and preserved. Well L'Gourmand's Fries are FRESH and again no joke - literally some of the best I've ever had.
Poutine is ...... just WOW!
The Poutine is better than Labelle, Lafleur, and even higher end like Poutineville ect. The sauce is great, thick and traditional, but the Fries are just amazing, don't get soggy in the sauce, and the cheese again is top quality.
The Burgers are incredible, not only the smell of them coming out of the chimney by the bike path constantly - but the taste. His grill replicates a BBQ perfectly, try the burger with smoked meat in it!
Sandwiches are big, served on a FRESH baguette, toasted on the grill. I've had both the L'Effiloche (pulled porc) and loved it, stuffed with meat and fresh veggies!
The grilled FULL CHICKEN BREAST sandwich is a great traditional large baguette sandwich - ask for it a bit spicy.
Even the COLESLAW is 10/10 - it makes me wonder what St Hubert and Au Coq are really giving you in their small side containers!! Because they do not even come close to the Large container of coleslaw you get for 3$ at L'Gourmand. I can't even believe I'm writting a review about coleslaw! But it was that good!
Do yourself a favor and head on down to Lachine and try L'Gourmand for yourself, meet and be greeted by friendly owners who will make you something that will put a smile on your face and stomach afterwards!
Thank you guys - I will...
Read moreIf you’re in Montreal and want a burger that truly delivers, this spot by the water is the place to go. The burger was juicy from the first bite, with sauces, dressings, and toppings layered so well that every bite felt balanced and full of flavor. Nothing slid out or overpowered anything else, it all just came together in the best way possible.
The beef itself was smoky, tender, and cooked just right, while the bun held everything together without getting soggy. Pair that with the beef tallow fries, which were crispy, golden, and packed with a rich flavor you don’t find often, and you’ve got a meal worth remembering.
The prices make it even better, giving you high-quality food at a cost that feels totally fair. On top of that, the service was warm, quick, and genuinely welcoming.
Between the juicy burgers, perfectly layered toppings, and those unforgettable fries, all set against a waterside backdrop, this place is an easy favorite to...
Read moreFollowing the favorable feedback received on Facebook and Google reviews, I visited this establishment. The reputation is well-founded. I was served by a courteous server, and when it was time to settle the bill, the proprietor, André, personally assisted me. We discovered shared interests, resulting in an engaging conversation.
Regarding the cuisine, I ordered onion rings and a hamburger. Despite a brief walk to the nearby waterfront, the onion rings remained crispy, though slightly oily, so I was unable to finish them all. However, I preserved them for later enjoyment, and they retained their deliciousness. The hamburger was delectable. André offered me some of his signature hot sauce, which complemented the burger perfectly with its ideal spiciness. Although the patty appeared dry, it was, in fact, succulent and flavorful. As the adage goes, appearances can be deceiving. I intend to return to this establishment...
