Chez LK — Restaurant in Montreal

I had a quite unpleasant experience placing an order for pick-up at this store. First off, I found this restaurant on Google map, and saw that there was an option to "order online". When I clicked on it, serveral options were listed, one of which is "Snappy" as shown on the picture below. Having used Snappy for food takeout before and knowing that it was a legit platform, I went on Snappy to place my takeout order and happily paid on the platform. Things quickly went downhill when I arrived at the restaurant. The employee started by telling me that they did not receive any takeout order online and that they were not aware that they were still on Snappy and insisted that I contact Snappy on my own. I then asked, if they did not want to keep using the platform anymore, why didn't they call Snappy and remove their store from it? They did not give me a definite answer to my question and just kept on trying to get away from it and make me leave. So I tried to ask for a refund and the answer I got was "we cannot refund, cancel, or make your order because we don't work with Snappy anymore." I have to add that the employees working there were not rude or disrespecful, but they were really not trying to help resolving the issue or providing any potential solutions at all. They just kept telling me "I don't know. I just work here." and left me hanging there without any solution for an hour. I was eager to try their sandwich upon seeing the rating on Google but now I don't think I would wanna go back. And I can only hope I will be able to dispute the charge with my bank and get my money back. Such a shame that I'm the one getting penalized for...

I was late to a class because of the absurdly long wait time for the food. Its a standard industry practice to notify customers if a dish will take longer than about 10-15 minutes to prepare when ordering from a take-away spot. They did not do this, making us wait 30+ minutes for a pad thai, which they didnt start cooking until atleast 15 minutes after we placed our order. I saw them preparing dishes for themselves to eat while we were waiting around. While we waited for our food three construction workers on lunch break came in to get food, and only one of them even managed to order before the overwhelmed man working the counter had to start fumbling around with a bunch of random stuff and didnt even take the order of the other two workers. After about 15 minutes of sitting there without even having their order taken, the one worker who managed to order asked for his money back and they left the store. If only I had seen that beforehand. I’m sure those construction workers were very happy to waste half of their lunch break on literally nothing. Chez LK is hands down the spot if you’re craving fresh, vibrant Vietnamese food made with love! I had the pleasure of trying two of their bánh mì sandwiches (photos attached) and was absolutely blown away.

The baguette was perfect — beautifully crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside — exactly what you dream of in a bánh mì. Every bite had the perfect balance of textures and flavors. The pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber, and fresh cilantro were incredibly fresh and vibrant, adding just the right amount of crunch and brightness. The fillings were packed with flavor — savory, tender, and so satisfying without feeling heavy.

You can tell that every element is prepared with real care and attention to authenticity. Even small details, like the seasoning and the slight kick of heat, were spot on.

Service was warm, quick, and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the restaurant made it a total pleasure to visit. Chez LK truly raises the bar for Vietnamese cuisine around here — this will definitely not be my last visit!
