Hot Africa — Restaurant in Montreal

I have no issue with the food that I have ordered on several occasions at this place. I'm not concerned about the cost of the food if it's tasty and completely cooked I don't care the cost. But tonight will be the last time I spend a penny there because the service is horrible 😕. Tonight I came with my kid's and this lady decided that now is the appropriate time to sweep the floor during hours of service where food is being served and customers in and out with purchases. She told my 23yr old son that was holding his nephew to move because she think it's time to be sweeping needless the say I raised my son to respect women even the rude ones so he said mum I'm not ordering anything from here and he left with my 10 yr old son and went and purchased there food from elsewhere. Before they leave the store she proceeded to continue sweeping as I had to tell my 10 yr old son to move out the way because she clearly look like she wanted to sweep his foot so rude and unprofessional. So my kid's all left leaving me there in the store waiting for my foood I ordered only to have her say close the door and sit over there I must be look like a kid but I know I wouldn't be back so I wasn't gonna give her any words. She also thought that it was a good idea to shake out the filty rug in the entrance of the restaurant as I sit at the table. At first I thought yes they talk loud and look at you from head to toe when you come in the place and act like your bothering them was maybe a cultural thing but tonight I don't care where you come from this is no way to treat customers that is supporting your business. The lady at the register couldn't understand a simple concept of changing the $2 and give me 2 looney instead she said it was to difficult. When you don't speak French it's even worst they will talk and don't think you understand . The place is just a place for take-out it's not interesting that you wanna sit and eat for me anyway. If I could give this place zero star I would. The food is good but their customer service is terrible. The first time I went there with a friend, and we right away noticed how cold and almost bothered the ladies who work there were. It is almost as if they don’t want to be there. And the way they spoke to customer was outrageous.

Fast forward to today, I placed two orders over the phone for take out, I drove 20 mins to get there only to be told that they couldn’t fulfil my orders. I asked why wasn’t I told so over the phone? And the woman with whom I spoke over the phone said that she wasn’t aware they couldn’t be done , they offered to give one plate. All this time the person I was speaking with, did not even once apologize for their mistake. She kept asking me “ what do you want me to do? I already told you I couldn’t call you back because I wasn’t able to retrieve your number and there is nothing else I can do”. She said that she was on another call when I called, and therefore couldn’t see my number.

About 5 minutes later of talking back and forth with the women I spoke with over the phone , another lady comes from kitchen, she apologizes and explains the situation. I told her that I can understand there was a problem but my issue was the fact that I wasn’t told it was impossible over the phone and most importantly how for since I had been there nobody apologized until she came from the kitchen, but rather tried to make it seem as though I should count myself luck that I was even getting the one plate.

Why not check with the kichen before you take an order?

And why not treat customers with manners

Your customer service is why I will never come back. I honestly have never experienced such bad customer service and let alone leave a review.

The food is good but it certainly doesn’t make up for the rude...
