When in Montreal and you crave Vegetarian Indian food, you should visit Foodine Restaurant at Queen Mary! The Restaurant is a delightful gem for anyone seeking authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine, especially those with a taste for Gujarati, Kathiyawadi, and Indian chaat items. The ambiance is warm and inviting, adorned with traditional Indian decor that sets the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience. The two highlights were: 1) Kadhai Paneer: One of the highlights of Foodine's menu is their Kadhai Paneer. The paneer is exceptionally fresh and tender, cooked to perfection with a robust blend of spices. The dish is a medley of vibrant flavors, with bell peppers and onions adding a delightful crunch. The gravy is rich and flavorful, perfectly balancing the spicy and tangy notes. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates a well-executed classic. 2) Shahi Paneer: The Shahi Paneer at Foodine lives up to its regal name. This dish is a creamy, luscious concoction that is both indulgent and satisfying. The paneer cubes are soft and soak up the rich, nutty gravy beautifully. The sauce, made with cashews and cream, is delicately spiced, making it a smooth and rich delight without being overpowering. It's an excellent choice for those who enjoy creamy, mildly spiced curries. Beyond these standout dishes, Foodine offers an impressive variety of other vegetarian delights. Their Gujarati and Kathiyawadi offerings are authentic and flavorful, capturing the essence of regional Indian cuisine. The street food section of the menu is equally commendable, featuring popular items like Pani Puri and Dahi Puri, Samosa, etc., which are prepared with great care and taste just like the ones you'd find in bustling Indian markets. The service at Foodine is prompt and courteous, with staff members who are knowledgeable and passionate about the food they serve. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, the staff are eager to help guide your choices to ensure a delightful experience. In conclusion, Foodine Restaurant is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to savor the rich and diverse flavors of vegetarian Indian cuisine. Their Kadhai Paneer and Shahi Paneer are particularly exceptional, making it a place worth visiting multiple times. With its authentic dishes, welcoming ambiance, and excellent service, Foodine is a top pick for vegetarian food lovers.

A Taste of Home at Foodline. If you're craving the comforting flavors of home-cooked meals made with love and care, look no further than Foodline. Tucked away in a cozy corner, this restaurant is a hidden gem that brings you back to your roots. One of the most charming aspects of Foodline is that the food is prepared by motherly age ladies, infusing each dish with the warmth and nostalgia of home. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of spices and the welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home. The menu boasts a delightful array of Gujarati delicacies, each dish bursting with authentic flavors and prepared with utmost love and tenderness. Every bite tastes as if it were cooked by your own mother, ensuring a truly satisfying dining experience. While parking may be a bit of a challenge as it's available on the road, the restaurant offers competitive rates and the option for unlimited thali, allowing you to indulge in as much delicious food as your heart desires. However, be prepared for difficulty finding parking, especially during evening hours and peak times. One minor drawback is the restaurant's size and location in the basement, which can make it feel colder than other dining establishments. But don't let that deter you! If you're eager to savor authentic Gujarati cuisine prepared with love and care, Foodline is a must-visit destination. In conclusion, Foodline is more than just a place to dine – it's an experience that transports you back to the comfort of home. So gather your loved ones and treat yourself to a memorable meal that will leave you craving more. Enjoy Eating & Happy Exploring.

First off, though it labels itself street food, if you just show up and order, be prepared to wait. I ordered 4 snacks and racked up a waiting time of an hour and fifteen. While waiting you'll see regulars steadily come in and out to pick up their phone orders and you'll be left wishing you had done the same. Now the food: had the Chana samosa and had never eaten in Montreal a Chana samosa prepared with so much care and love. It's simply beautiful to look at and a far cry from the soggy messes you get elsewhere in the city. Besides the aspect, it's a whole palette of flavours, à mix of salty and sweet, mellow and tangy, of soft and crunchy, of crisp and starch, with fried noodles, pomegranate seeds, fresh cilantro and the occasional cumin seed you'll crunch on. Each snack is a legitimate world of flavor and you can tell they are assembled with pride and love. I ate this with someone else and it was a silent meal, focused on all the flavors and textures these snacks had to offer. It's definitely recommended but.... phone in your order.

We recently dined at Foodine in downtown Montreal, and it was an unforgettable experience. This cozy little restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite spots, especially for their authentic Gujarati cuisine.

From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reminded me of home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every detail of my dining experience was perfect.

The food, however, was the star of the show. Every dish was bursting with flavors that took me back to my roots. The Gujarati thali was a highlight, with its delightful combination of savory, sweet, and tangy elements, just like my grandmother used to make. Each bite was a nostalgic journey, and I could tell that the chefs put a lot of love and care into their cooking.

In addition to the thali, the dhokla and thepla were simply outstanding. They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and paired beautifully with the chutneys. It’s rare to find such authentic Gujarati food outside of India, and Foodine truly excels in bringing the flavors of Gujarat to Montreal.

Overall, Foodine is a gem in the heart of downtown Montreal. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Indian cuisine, especially if you’re looking for that special taste of home. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return for another...
