Short Summary: Go to L'Avenue or St-Viateur Bagel & Cafe Mont-Royal, or any other place on the same street. HORRENDOUS service.
Service was absolutely horrendous. The waitress didn't seem too glad to take our order. At 11:27am, we placed our order. At 11:57am, we asked about our food, where the reply was "10 more minutes" from the same waitress because the "toast got burnt". It doesn't take that long to fix the toast. At 12:10pm, we asked again and the waitress instantly said 2 minutes without skipping a beat, they didn't even check the kitchen. We got our food at 12:20pm.
We basically waited almost an hour for our food while the tables around us came in much later but got their food within 20 minutes.
A common observation that we found during our exciting wait was that those tables that filled up around us spoke French, and were met with better service. Another table spoke English and waited much longer than the tables speaking French.
I was hoping that I wouldn't be met with discrimination like that while visiting Montreal, but I guess we were unlucky. Regardless if that is the case, the service was HORRENDOUS throughout. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
For the food, it was poorly cooked and prepared given they had an hour to make it. I got a crepe wrapped with eggs, tomatoes, etc with potatoes on the side. It was serviceable but was not great.
I would have rather went to the nearby McDonald's for their breakfast and have better service from an inanimate...
Read moreIt's been a while since I enjoyed being in Cora branches, but this branch made my decision for the future a bit foggy , 3 ladies were serving us there, Anne, Annick, and Chantal, in comparison with Ontario branches. It was small, and we could not find maple syrup on the table. In Ontario, there is jam and butter and ketchup. In this branch, it was not.
Usually, in Ontario, you get coffee top up, and here they didn't offer us.
Something that made me nervous, was the milk, they figure it out (Annich told us), but the decision is hard to take, reputation of your brand or 6 sick customer, that the milk was not good and offered us 3 new cappuccino, but I told them be careful we are traveling and it's not good to be sick with dieriha 😁in a road trip.
Even with the situation, we didn't get sick, and the food was good.
If I were the manager of that branch, I give Annick a raise because I didn't enjoy the atmosphere of cora and the food this time, I can't forget Annick decision that saved us from being sick...
Read moreI hadn't been to this place since I was 13 years old, and it's a surprise that it's still open!! If you don't mind waiting 30 minutes to be seated, another 30 minutes to place your order, and then enduring a 45-minute wait for your food, then this is the place for you!! 😂 I ordered a crepe with an "assortment" of fruits, which, according to the picture, should have included strawberries, blueberries, and kiwis. However, what I received was quite different – just take a look at the photo. When I finally managed to flag down the waiter (which also took a while), he brought over a plate with more pineapple and sliced cantaloupe, and I couldn't help but laugh. I asked, "What is this?" and he responded, "Well, it's an assortment, so it doesn't guarantee the other fruits."
