I was visiting Montreal from Toronto and I wanted to try Eggspectation before I left back to Toronto. We came in for breakfast and it was my birthday. I asked a lady at front if they do anything and she said she is new she will ask the other host and get back to me she didn't.

We were seated at the table near the part where the servers fill the jugs with water. We had an Indian server who started off nice and wished me happy birthday but then got rude later on. I asked for straws for the water and he only brought two straws when we were a table of 4 people. I had to ask for two more straws 4 minutes later.

I asked him if there is any complimentary dishes whether dessert or meal for my birthday he said no just a candle in my order and they sing happy birthday to me.

I wanted to order omlette with meat but I don't eat pork I said can you replace the pork for something he said no we don't do that.

After the meal the people I was with wanted take away containers as they didn't finish their meal he says there is a $.75 cents charge for take away containers..(first time in my life we had to pay for take away containers) so far no compensation for anything

When we were paying for the bills this is where he got rude.. it was my birthday and we got 4 bills and my friend wanted to pay for mine so she said let me pay for both bills separately and he said "why does it matter" she replied "it matters to me" because she wanted to keep track of what was being spent. That was rude of him to hesitate to honor the customers request.

So in summary, no birthday compensations, no replacing or modifying the meals if you don't eat a certain meat and you have to pay for take away containers because (the eggspectation cost to buy containers is too much and they can't afford to give it away for free) I won't be coming back to this location nor recommending it to...

Extremely horrible experience while visiting this spot. A few weeks ago we visited this spot while visiting montreal. It is safe to say that it was the worst experience ever! While placing our order, we ordered 2 cheese bagels. The server named Ranjan completely misheard our order and brought out something completely different from what we had ordered. Despite the total being $45 from the original $16 that it should have been, we didn't bother to argue about it. Nonetheless, the food was also horrible. The sandwich was clearly not don’t properly. When it came time to pay, things just got worse. Due to the fact that Ranjan messed up the order, we decided not to tip him. This is where things got messy. Ranjan was clearly not happy about not receiving a tip. He created a fuss about it and mentioned that we wouldn't get the same service next time due to the fact that we didn't tip him. Even though Ranjan messed up our complete order and brought out the complete opposite of what we had ordered, he felt entitled to receiving a tip. Even after addressing our concerns to the store manager, they decided not to do anything about it. They kept asking for a receipt that Ranjan did not give us as he knew that we would complain. The store manager was of no help either. The staff at this location are clearly not well trained and do not know how to behave. I would definitely not...

We had a fairly large party (12 people) come in right after noon on a Wednesday during the Holidays. It took a while for us to get seated (which was to be expected).

Once we were seated, however, it took foreeeeeever for the servers to come get our order. After setting up the table and giving us the menus, it must have been a solid 10-15 minutes before they came around to ask us if we wanted coffee and/or drinks. Then another 5-10 for us to get our food order in.

By the time our food arrived (another 20 minutes later), half of us still didn't have our drinks. I ordered an Americano right off the bat when we sat down, and it only arrived halfway through we were done eating despite reminding the wait staff.

It wasn't a terrible experience, just a very long, slow, drawn out experience which culminated in mediocre breakfast food being served cold and leaving me with a profound impression of dissatisfaction. The fact that this place is more expensive than the other franchise-style breakfast places in the city (like l'Oeufrier or Cora) is also mind-boggling. I may be tainted by my whole experience, but the food seemed way less good than anywhere else.

All in all, I wouldn't go back here again, even if it was a practical option, but I also don't think it's the worst place you could go if you wanted a mediocre...

This place has such a cute and punny name so thought we’d check it out! They have a couple locations so you can pick a closer one, but keep in mind they close pretty early at around 3-4pm depending on the day. My friends and I opted for a late brunch here in which we each ordered an entree, but the portions were so big that we wished we had just ordered 2-3 instead since there were a lotta potatoes on each dish as well. I got the Eggspectation Omelette, which was quite the disappointment as the omelette was over made and not as fluffy as it should be. The only thing that really saved the dish was the mushroom I could pick out and munch on or else I wouldn’t have had much to eat. My friends got the Montreal Benny, Crab Cake Benedict and the Rosemary Chicken Sandwich. The Crab Cake Benedict was pretty good considering it’s crab, but the others were standard. We also got a Montreal Poutine to share and that was huge, but probably the best part of the meal. I recommend getting the Green Light for a drink if you need a refresher after a flight and some fried foods. It’s minty and clear, which helps with digesting all the carbs from the meal.

I had the veggie omelette with potatoes. Both were very bland, had no seasoning on them as they were prepped or cooked. Any good chef knows food should be seasoned. Given that my omelette had no cheese or salty meat with it, the blandness was very strong. I tried adding my own salt and pepper but it did not help unfortunately. I told the very kind waiter that I was not enjoying my food. He was very apologetic and tried to help me. I didn’t want another dish at this point. So he directed me to his manager. The manager here was very abrupt and he did not seem to empathize with my distaste of my food. He told me that the chefs here and at all of their franchises don’t ever season the food and that they provide salt and pepper shakers on the tables for the customers to season their own food. If he said that to chef Gordon Ramsay, he’d call this guy a donkey. The service and atmosphere here was very nice—except for the managers service. Unless you’re getting a dish that comes with salty cheese and salty meat, you may find your food blasée. I will not come back.

We recently visited Eggspectation Maisonneuve with a large group, and I have to say, the server was exceptionally nice! They went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our party was taken care of and had a great experience. While the food was good, it wasn't anything extraordinary. However, it's definitely a solid breakfast and brunch spot. There's a great variety of options on the menu, so everyone in our group was able to find something they enjoyed. Unfortunately, I did notice that the management seemed rude to the waiters at times, which created an awkward situation. Despite that, our server remained professional and attentive throughout our meal. Overall, I would recommend Eggspectation Maisonneuve as a good spot for breakfast or brunch. The service is top-notch and the food is solid, though there were some issues with management. All in all, I would give it a four-star rating.
