A Citrus Oasis in Montreal: Experiencing the Gibeau Orange Julep
In the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Montreal, there stands a structure so distinctive, it has beckoned locals and tourists alike for generations. Behold the Gibeau Orange Julep, affectionately known to Montrealers as "La Boule Orange," a monumental orange sphere that promises more than just a visual treat — it is a sanctuary of the most delightful culinary creations, rooted deeply in the city's gastronomic culture.
The Immortal Orange
The essence of this iconic venue is enshrined in its famed orange juice, a recipe that has stood the test of time, bringing people from all walks of life together. Today, I joined the ranks of those entranced by this age-old concoction, sipping on a large cup of the freshest, zestiest, and perfectly sweetened orange juice. Each gulp transports you to citrus orchards, immersing you in a refreshing sea of vibrant flavors, a testimony to the purity and authenticity that Gibeau Orange Julep champions. This is not just a beverage; it’s a Montreal institution in a cup.
A Menu that Resonates with Every Palate
The culinary delights of Gibeau Orange Julep stretch beyond its legendary orange juice. On my gastronomic adventure, I indulged in a Montreal-style Club Sandwich, a triumphant marriage of textures and flavors meticulously assembled to bring joy to every diner. The sandwich offers a rich tapestry of tastes, enveloping you in a warm hug of culinary comfort that speaks of home, tradition, and the exquisite craftsmanship that goes into perfecting such a classic dish.
Let us not forget the fries, an item so commonly found yet seldom perfected. At Gibeau Orange Julep, the fries stand as a testament to the establishment’s commitment to quality, turning a simple dish into an exhilarating experience of crispy golden perfection that leaves you craving more with every bite.
More than a Culinary Destination
What adds to the magic is the fact that people embark on journeys, traversing cities and provinces to witness the magic of the Orange Julep. As someone who came all the way from Calgary, I found that the miles traveled only added to the euphoria of the dining experience. This is not merely a restaurant; it is a pilgrimage site for food enthusiasts, a place of community, and a reservoir of memories waiting to be created.
In Conclusion: An Experience Unparalleled

Read moreAlright I read some reviews and I’m going to come out and say. Yes it’s expensive but you have to think about what the government does to businesses when you’re successful. They will charge you a bit more at least I believe so.🤷🏾♂️
Now they’re a famous spot and yes I think it could be even a bit cheaper but we gotta understand the value of history behind the prices.
The food is just regular degular burgers and fries spot food…..I ain’t even know they had spaghetti lol. There’s other things too you never know what you’ll like until you try it. People in the reviews were saying that they don’t like the Orange Juice and Vanilla ice cream mix because it’s too sweet and that’s understandable but also that’s what made them.
I don’t recall but if I’m not lying they do have a few spots to sit and eat but I mean you have your vehicle to eat in too.
Lastly the BIG NIGHTS that The Gibeau Orange Julep have are car meets which is called Cruise Nights that are typically held on Wednesday evenings during the summer months from like mid-May to early September. They’re there between 6PM - 9PM but listen they usually stay a bit longer !! It’s so cool to see what people have been doing with their time and expressing their passion and love for cars ! Seeing different interiors, car kit bodies and styles/brands of cars is sooooooooo amazing to me ! People also blare music out of their cars until curfew time which is 10PM I believe. And also yes the police come around but not because of those things, they’re always there to make sure nothing “illegal” is going down and that there’s no problems. If you’re visiting and gotta bit of coin to spend go ahead ! Enjoy and come through on a Wednesday night around 7PM and feel that Montreal Big Orange Ball OGJ...
