I was very excited to spend the long weekend with my best friend in Montreal and we both agreed the hotel looked very promising while booking it. It was not cheap but since we were splitting we thought it was worth it… we were wrong. The hotel lobby is very nice and elegant, but that’s about where the good things stopped. I got to the hotel early so my room was not ready (which is totally fine since I knew check in was not until a couple of hours later) but the lady that helped me told she could pre-check me in and give me a call once the room was ready. I never received said call. Once I went back to the hotel, check-in was extremely slow. The lady at the front desk told me there was a QR code in the room with all the hotel information. Once we got to the room there wasn’t a QR code. I then called the lobby again to request information on how to connect to the wifi and said the room did not have a QR code. I had to try calling about four times before anyone picked up. They proceeded to tell me there must be one, otherwise I had to come back downstairs to the lobby to scan the QR code (there was none, we looked everywhere around the room for it). Once I tried to login to the wifi it did not work. The staff again was a little rude and not helpful and directed me to call the a service line with whom I spent around 20 minutes on the phone. The reservation was for a double room with four people. However, we only had one towel in the room. I requested more towels and after 30 minutes we got ONE extra towel delivered to the room. The staff did not apologize neither did they tried to make anything better. I definitely don’t think this hotel is worth the price, specially considering you have to pay for parking ($15 per night) and breakfast (I wasn’t even given the option to pay for breakfast since I had not included it in my reservation). You can get a hotel at a better location and more perks for the same...
Read moreMy review would have absolutely been 5 stars if it weren’t for the incredibly souring experience I had with a certain front desk staff in the AM.
I was booked here last minute after midnight by air Canada after a flight cancellation. The late night staff was very welcoming and helpful despite having not yet been notified of my arrival. The room was beautiful and had all the amenities. The hotel itself is also beautiful. The restaurant had a delicious breakfast and very attentive staff.
However, when I went down in the morning to get breakfast, I asked, QUITE SIMPLY, what time breakfast was served until, in case I had missed it. The gentleman asked for my room number which was weird because I didn’t really understand how that would impact the breakfast hours, but okay. After looking me up he gave me a FIVE MINUTE LONG speech about how I was not entitled to any sort of breakfast because the airline voucher did not cover their restaurant. He repeated multiple times that I would be required to pay for breakfast before I finally found a space to interrupt and say Okay??????? So as I asked, what time is it served until????????? Very obnoxious treatment of a guest.
They also refused to grant any additional check out time to figure out my plan due to the flight delay. I had been stuck in Montreal for a week at that point with multiple flight delays and stayed at 5 hotels during that time. They are the first hotel that denied this request. Is this a policy of theirs? Super unaccommodating and would not recommend. If you’re stuck with air Canada, choose ANY other hotel. If you’re travelling and looking for a hotel - only choose them if customer service is not a...
Read moreMy first impression of the hotel (from the aesthetics) was good, but that was about the peak of it.
The rooms are nice, the suite I booked was very clean and furnished modernly but some details keep my rating at a 3-star.
For example, like any other hotel you get a coffee machine, here at hilton you get just that and only that. Just coffee, no sugar or cream. If you want to drink non-black coffee you'll need to head down to the front and grab a few packets of sugar yourself, they don't have cream.
The bathroom layout is also a bit confusing, the toilet and shower are physically separated in a room from the tap (photo attached) so after you do your business, you're stuck with germy hands to open the door and walk to the sink.
Parking here is a bit tricky too, designated parking is underground and access is granted after checking in which means you'll need to leave your car idle in the front, where other people are waiting since the space can only fit 3-4 vehicles. Not exactly the fault of the hotel, just poor planning and construction taking part right in that space.
On the topic of construction, there's lots going on directly outside the hotel, and the apartments around it means that it's a very tight (and dusty) space for any vehicle movement. Not a great location, but you do have access to Starbucks and a restaurant right underneath the hotel.
The reason I'm listing all these is because you can tell a lot about a hotel's commitment to creating a comfortable stay through all these details. This Hilton hotel looks pretty, but everything else leaves much...
