Huis Clos — Restaurant in Montreal

My partner and I went here for dinner and a drink a few days ago, because the reviews looked good. The server only checked on us once in 45 minutes, and wasn’t very knowledgeable about the food/drinks when we were ordering. I thought it was super long for a tartare, so I flagged another server down, and it became evident that the orders had been forgotten. They simply said the kitchen was still open so we could still put in an order if we were hungry. We declined, and weren’t offered any kind of discount on our drinks. My partner asked about this and the server seemed incredulous that we were hungry and upset and wanted some kind of apology or discount. In the end we told him we thought it would be fair if we paid for one of the drinks, because it was weird that they weren’t apologetic or offering us at least a little discount. I moved in next door to your bar, 2 floors above about 3 weeks ago. Your music is so loud from 10pm-3am that I can barley sleep, even with ear plugs in I can still hear it. My husband has come down to complain several times, you say that you will turn it down yet it continues to be an issue, to the point where we have recently had to file a complaint with police.. Cool nautical theme going on with refreshing house cocktails. Romeo Collins, Ginger something, and San Tiki were interesting mixes of flavours. The espresso martini was perfect. Picked three meats and a cheese for a board and it was perfect. Will bring more bread on request as well.

Service was friendly and efficient, but they weren't always the most attentive and were hard to flag down at those times. Very cool music mix, would go back...
